omg love my UD 24/7 liner. I've gotta go back and get the ones that go with the naked shadows, why was I a dumbass and didn't figure out what those were the first time? I bought the eyeliner for naked 1 and the 2 and 3 palettes, derp.

There's an eyeliner that goes with each palette?

I mean, eyeliner is eyeliner, no? Does it really matter that much if it's the one that goes with that particular one?

They're double-ended sticks that each have two shades from one of the palettes. Maybe it's not an essential, but most of the shades of the naked 2 and 3 palettes are really shimmery, while the one I picked up is matte.

Most of my other makeup is either old, broken, or both, and i'm planning to purge it this weekend. If I haven't worn this eyeshadow I had in high school in the last 5 years, I guess it can go to the dump already.

UD is having a 20% off sale now, i wonder if they do that often. I'd like to try their liquid liner as well. Sephora has their prices jacked way up in Canada

I have thought about getting a gel set because I love having painted nails, but even with good polish they start chipping after two days at the most. But it's pretty low on my wish list, so I probably won't get one for a while.

yeah, it's a couple hundred just to get the setup and 2-3 polishes. i've invested a bit in the sally hansen insta dri nailpolishes in the last year or two. I have such shitty nails that I bet even gel won't work on me.

I've done at home gel and supposedly applied it right and it lasted a week. My neighbor uses the same set (she lets me borrow hers) and it lasts her a month. I'd say try going to a salon and getting a couple gel manicures there and see how long they last before getting the set. In Raleigh you can get a groupon for a $15 gel mani and that's what I plan to do one last time before I 100% give up on nail polish.

I had been getting shellac pretty regularly but with my current budget I had to stop I havent tried doing an at-home kit or anything though. For me it lasts about 2-3 weeks and I love it.

aside from the expense, I loved my full gel nails when I had them (for about 1.5 years there)

Adara Spa in Raleigh does a great job with them, and they are super chip/damage/solvent resistant

My neighbor looked into it quite extensively and ended up with the Gelish set. It lasts her a long time and I'm pretty sure it's just my nails being defective because regular polish only lasts me 2 days tops even when I use the quality stuff and everything.

The best of the cheaper consumer grade stuff seems to be the sensationail kit. They are about $50 regular price and sometimes there are sales or coupons that make them less.

do you wash a lot of dishes? i find that people whose nails stay nice a long time usually don't, or don't cook much at all. I try wearing gloves but I hate it.

I wash my hands pretty much constantly, since I like to snack and I always wash my hands before I eat and after as well if I get something on them. I actually washed my hands less when I was working in a lab because I would wear gloves for everything and only wash my hands when I took the gloves off to leave the lab area and go to my office.

Do I do it? The same haircut (short on the sides, long on top) can be styled so many ways. I've been putting it off because I don't want to look like Miley but I think I'm going to do it.

You're slightly annoying to me sometimes so I'm gonna suggest that you go for it. It is a super versatile haircut and so sexy, too! I just wish I was as pretty as you so I could do it myself. I'm so jelly.

So yeah...DO IT! CUT ALL YOUR HAIR OFF!

if you know you like yourself with a pixie, why not try it? you can get it cut shorter if people annoy you with comments.

True. Even when I get the side buzzed it's back to pixie length in 2 months, so I really shouldn't be as worried about this as I am. It's my last chance to get a fun short cut (and then grow it out if needed) before I graduate and have to worry about judgy employer types.

if you want it, get it....but i really don't see you as the kind of girl who would take the time needed everyday to make that haircut presentable...

dropdeadkate had something similar but she is that type to take that time and it looked decent most of the time...(I can't say it looked good/great simply because I just don't like haircuts like that, not because it wasn't fixed well)

you seem extremely low maintenance....and that is not a cut for a low maintenance lady

if you want short hair, i would just go with a pixie cut and call it a day....this is all my opinion though

Nah, you just need some suavecito or layrite for the pompadour. I couldn't do that on the days I ride the motorcycle though.

I use pomade in my hair right now, but the ion brand stuff from Sally doesn't last all day. Most of the super hold ones are shiny, but I guess shiny is better than having to reapply. Might try a wax. There are too many options, and I don't know what to do.

I hated the idea of styling my hair right up until I realized there were products other than the curling irons and hairspray that my mother tortured me with as a child.

do it lewoods! I WISH I could rock hair like that. I tried a pixie-ish cut once and it was AWFUL. but you're right, if you cut it like that then it won't be too long before it's back to pixie length. DO IT. for me.

I took back my bareminerals crap (and managed to keep the only part of the kit that was worth a damn), and got the other double-ended UD naked eyeliners. I got a 3-pack of 'travel-size' 24/7 eyeliners in brown, navy, and black (perversion, haha).
And I got one of the UD naked lipglosses. It's called rule 34!!! haha, how could i not pick that one?

I also got some of this anastasia dipbrow pomade to try. the brush in the store had a bunch of really dark pigment in it, so i dunno if the blonde is really gonna work or not. It really is waterproof though, took two showers to get rid of the caked-on job the sephora chick did.

hehe, I was just looking at that yesterday, and then I saw this review of drugstore mascaras, which covered the butterfly effect. She also liked Maybelline full n soft.

http://www.xovain.com/makeup/best-drugstore-mascaras

I got a sample of the makeup forever smoky extravagant mascara, and it's pretty nice... but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to pay $30 for mascara. But i have crazy lashes and I was thinking about maybe scheduling a consultation at sephora to try a bunch of stuff and find the best. the salespeople aren't always that helpful at the closest one, they mostly just stand over you and make sure you aren't stealing stuff. They did try some foundations on me last time, but i was already wearing stuff and it was night. anyway, have any of y'all had a makeover or pre-arranged consultation there?

I exclusively wear free sample or drugstore mascara. Also--and this is horrible--other people's ancient castoff tubes.

I will shell out for eyeshadow, but mascara is always a drugstore brand purchase for me. I have never noticed enough difference in pricier brands to justify the price difference. But I also am not all that knowledgeable about makeup.

i'm really digging that navy stripe and chartreuse one.

didn't sephora have a huge box of mascara samplers last year? I don't see it on the site now, but it might be because I'm stuck on the Canadian site. If I wore black mascara all the time, that's what i would go for. it'd probably be enough mascara for years. but black really harsh on me. I need stuff that comes in brown and copper.

it doesn't look as good on me as I had hoped...

it's the typical "fit & flare" style that make wide hips look wider...

then I added a belt...

now it's AWESOME!

yeah, dresses that really need a belt kinda bum me out. sometimes i wanna throw some sack on and get out there without trying to find the one belt that matches from the bottom of my closet, and then having to fiddle with it all day. I've almost sworn off a place after the last few dresses I got looked lame without belts. that trend is gonna die and then i will have nothing to wear
