Well, I went to the little shitty sephora close to me, and they had a Josie Maran holiday gift set left with a small version of 100% Pure Argan Oil (0.5 fl.oz), Argan Cleansing Oil (1.9 fl. oz), Argan Oil Hair Serum (0.5 fl. oz), Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil (0.5 fl. oz), Whipped Argan Oil Intensive Hand Cream in 'Vanilla Apricot' (1 fl. oz), and Whipped Argan Body Butter in 'Vanilla Apricot' (2 fl. oz). And I bought a 0.5 fl oz bottle of the 'light' argan oil as well. can't wait to get moisturized!

damn, every moisturizer i have leaves my face looking shiny and greasy. what do you love, gals?

I'm really loving the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil for my lips. it has a nice orange flavor. All of the stuff smells delicious- apricot and rose.

^^the product graveyard really hit home for me. the only styles I worry about these days are down and straight, ponytail, braid, or bun. my hair refuses to do anything else.

I have been using mine for a couple years now and I don't have any problems with breakouts or greasy skin (that said, I have always had really "normal" skin, with the occasional random zit and semi-greasy nose). But I have found (and science supports this) that the more I moisturize (I'm sure there is a breaking point here) the less greasy my nose gets - your skin doesn't have to go into overdrive producing oils.

I use it on my hair every time I wash. I apply it in a few sections (for better distribution), a few drops/pumps per section. There is a balancing act here - if I put too much on, it WILL look greasy. But the right amount makes my hair SO.FREAKING.SILKY and like I said, I no longer use any other products. I will also rub a teensy bit in my hands and then rub it on my ends and through little flyaways after I've blown it dry, or the day after (or the day after that...I rarely wash my hair).

I also bought Emu Oil recently (http://www.amazon.com/PRO-EMU-OIL-4oz-Certified/dp/B001DKF08S/ref=pd_sim_bt_4) that I am starting to use around my eyes (at night, too greasy for under makeup) and on boo-boos and stuff I've picked at on my face. I love it and I love the concept. Excited to see if it is the miracle oil I hope it to be.

Anyone ever order from Athleta? I just ordered this online ( I don't really do it for pants). What is your experience with Athleta? Their Betonna line seems popular too, if you have any comments about them.

While a good temporary relief, the ingredients in most chap sticks and lip balms dry your skin out further.

They cracked open like crazy in the hospital. I've been using Neutrogena naturals with a decent bit of relief. Should I use a scrub? My water intake is ridiculous, like 4 liters a day currently.

elise, i really like nivea chapstick. it doesn't have spf, but i doubt you need it atm anyway...

when you drink a glass of water, do your lips feel instantly plumper and better? mine do when I'm dehydrated. if you're really fully hydrated, it might just be dead skin. so i'd try a scrub, but just make it yourself. and you have to give what you're doing time to work. it takes new skin 28 days to grow, so you won't get your new perfect skin for a month after you chap it and religiously apply the products.

i had the worst chapped lips and hands in the world a couple weeks ago. for my lips, i had floppy flaps of skin all over and it was horrible. so i mixed a couple tablespoons of sugar with some walnut oil (or whatever kind you have) and rubbed that on my lips with my finger and an old toothbrush, and put on a waxy lip balm later. worked a treat, and i've done it again a couple times since for the stubborn bits.

I got a moisturizer (from the medical skin\foot section of the pharmacy) that has around 20% urea(carbamide). i've been using it twice a day every day on my hands and feet and elbows (and putting on some old fashioned grease after it soaks in, as it's kind of powdery after) and that has really, really worked on my hands and elbows. udderly smooth and eucerin make varieties with a lower concentration of urea, but i say pull out the big guns if it's bad.

do you have some humidifiers going in your house? I have one in my bedroom, but I think I need another one.

slappy1, update with that emu oil once you try it. I've seen it for sale recently too, but i was a little too repulsed to try it.

today i'm trying the Dr. Jart BB cream samples i picked up at Sephora last week. I went like half an hour before they closed and nobody talked to me, so i just picked up the stuff and made them myself. but there wasn't a pen, So i'm not sure which is which. I remember thinking in store that the black one was a bit darker, but now i can't tell, and they look really similar on. and I was too shy to fill my containers but I wish I did, hah.

they only had these two in store. I found a too-faced BB cream on the way out, but my husband was too twitchy to let me look at it. for nearly $50 a tube, maybe i better go back to mixing moisturizer and foundation on a sponge.

eh, people say both are good for the skin, so i would go with what you think tastes better, and try not to get too much on your skin just in case. I'm gonna go do my scrub again. I mixed mine in a tiny tupperware so i can get a few uses out of it.

Vicks vapor rub is the best for chapped lips. Scrub and then rub is what I'd do.

Then Burt's bees peppermint if I need it during the day

All three naked palettes are available on Sephora's website, for the moment. wonder how long that's going to last.

I'm really tempted to just order these and throw out all my old makeup since it's such a big mess.

I got a $250 sephora card for my birthday. The packaging was really cute and there were a ton of little samples in the bag, and a nice magnifying pocket mirror, and the man said some really gushy stuff about wanting me to know i'm beautiful n stuff I guess my cooing over the last batch of stuff I got there made an impression, haha.

One of the samples was Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. Supposedly one of their classic products, but I'd never tried it before.

Apparently it looks different on everyone, and there's a big difference in color between one light coat and two. I like the shine and the texture, but it's not really that moisturizing. Still looking for the holy grail in these lip balm/lipstick combos. I've previously been using three different shades of Revlon lip butter.

Chicas, what are your faves???

^^did you find that in a store or did you order it? The 'style' of the bottle looks really similar to organix, I guess we know what draws your eye! wow, you should see how cheap it is on drugstore.com vs amazon.

This sounds nuts, but I bought conditioner at the asian grocery store, and I liked it so much I went back for the shampoo (and more conditioner). This stuff is really amazing for my fine, tangly hair. I just hope I can find more if the store i've been buying it at doesn't restock it.

^are we talking pants with some kind of stretch, or jeans?

don't you have kind of an olive complexion? most companies only make things for two shades of skin

I think your sweatpants will be fine. (maybe just try laying down and raising your leg in the air to see if they'll fall down before you go yoga). Do you really care what people who think you have to spend over $100 on sweatpants think?

Alright, I'm wearing sweatpants!

And I do have an olive complexion! But I think lips are unconsciously sexual to me...so putting color on them makes me feel weird. It definitely makes for a more appealing face overall, but then I feel childishly self-conscious about my lips. Are you looking at my lips?!?! Don't look at my lips! OH GOD!

after 27 years i finally decided to try some non drugstore brand shampoo/conditioner because my hair was totally unmanageable. i was up to washing/conditioning 3 or 4 times and combing my hair out in the shower for 5 minutes every day just to get it untangled. my hair is thin and not very long but really curly and it was terrible.

i really like this stuff.

as for tinted lip balms i just bought some of this burt's bees stuff. i have only used it today so i will have to report back, but i really like burt's bees for any lip product.

which color did you get? and what's the texture like?

I've had some of their lip shimmers for years, but they're a bit too thin and pigmented to really slather on, or it gets messy.

I kinda forgot about that company upon trying a couple products that didn't perform well after they sold out and turned into a huge corporation. They also discontinued my favorite product, real lipstick made with beeswax. I think I have pomegranate, but it might have been mulberry, and it was the perfect red for me, and I still have the tube and trot it out a couple times a year. it's probably time to take that to the makeup store and try to find a duplicate.

So In love with UD! I got the Naked 2 and 3 eye palettes, the naked flush blush trio, one of the double-ended 24/7 pencils, and some of the eye primer.

has anyone here tried the UD naked skin stuff? I got a bareminerals starter kit, but I felt like my pores looked worse, not better, so that might have to go back.

I have been trying to get over my issues with lipstick. I am not making much progress. Any time I use a color that is more than one shade away from my actual lip color, I feel like a clown or a whore.

but I recently bought two different lip stains, one pretty dark (well, dark compared to my normal nude gloss). It definitely took awhile to get used to but I got so many compliments and I love pics of myself with it on, so that helped. only took 29 years to take the plunge!

I guess if you must be given to one extreme or another, being too self-conscious to wear lipstick sounds preferable to being too self-conscious to go out without it... but maybe just try wearing something wild and give 'em something to stare at, and desensitize yallselves already!

I have a deep plum that I bought last year that I have worn a few times. That's about as far as I've gotten.

I have the same issue with blush, but I also have natural color in my cheeks so I don't look dead. Or at least I don't think I do.

I too have that "I think I look like a clown" thing when it comes to lip color. I'm a bold gal, and I feel like it's really hard for someone with dark skin to pull off bright lips. Also I'm so used to having fun with my eye makeup that I keep it real simple on the lips so I don't look like a stripper.

But I just jumped in the deep end and hit up my girl at NARS. I have tried a really cute pink and I have a deep aubergine color for the winter.

I usually wear a sheer color in my gloss. It's a huge change to go to full on lipstick (tho this is one of those chunky lip pencil thingies)
