I hope Friends Central wins tomorrow, so we can see how the McD's game plays out.

I still think last night helps us with Amile more than it hurts us. Sure we lost, but Gott can talk to Amile and explain things to him without having his hands tied by a potential fine from the conference.

If he picks Duke, which he probably will, it's certainly not because of last night.

I think Gott needs to focus on recruiting a couple of refs. it';s workin really well for K and Roy

I would hope that game would help a recruit decide to play for state. Wouldn't you want to play for a team capable of beating duke by 20? I mean, we played most of the game with the Williams on the bench and still outplayed them.

i would think aj saw that we're some depth away from being a really good team. and we seriously need some front-court depth.

Scary to think about what this team could do with some depth (even though the bench played outstanding last night considering the situation)

I would hope AJ saw that he could either play with a bunch of athletes at State like Brown and Leslie or a bunch of pussy floppers like Plumlee and Kelly.

Honestly if I was an inside threat, the last team I'd want to play for is a team like Duke that just jacks up threes and only relies on the big men to set illegal picks and over the back rebounds.

Other than Boozer, has Coach K ever produced a legit NBA center or power forward (cue for face to talk about how great McRobots is).

Yeah nba all stars that Avg 18 points, 8 rebs, 2.5 ast, 1.2 stl, 1 blk and shoot close to 50% Fg suck!

Before the acl tear laettner was as good as boozer .

Its just typical lazy media ignoring expansion and small market teams . It's easier to pretend all their players suck than figure out which ones are good

what was laettner's TS% cause your per game stats are meaningless

laettner was never even a top 10 player on his own team

Laettner was an above average NBA player. So not a good argument against Duke on that one.

I will say that their percentage of taking All-American big men and making them NBA players isn't good. But they've had enough succeed to be able to point to them and it not be a problem.

But if I were a big man that was considering Duke, I couldn't watch last night's game and be like, "That's the offense I want to play in!!"

Fuck that. All they do is jack 3s and go iso...which is a game for the guards. They haven't utilized a big man since Boozer.

I read that Amile's team won their championship game. I also read that Duke isn't considering Parker anymore? fwiw, i don't know if either are true.

It's also "McDonald's" (possesive). I noticed that sometimes they use the lower case "i", but sometimes they capitalize it.

Anton Wilson sounds like a less-athletic version of Courtney Fells. The fact that we are recruiting him indicates that the staff is concerned about a lack of outside shooters on the roster.

Torian Graham would've been nice, since he can hit the 3 and do other things as well. I guess he won't be playing college ball next year, though.

We should recruit Bill Brasky, a 10-foot tall 2-ton son of a bitch that could eat a hammer and take a shotgun blast standing.

Saw, 5th hand info, a guy asked TG at the game (assuming the UNC game) point blank if we was coming to State. His answer - absolutely. I guess that could mean next year with all the high school transfers.

I hope to less worried about outside shooting next year. Zo will be able to focus more on shooting, Purvis will be knocking down threes, which opens up Scott wood, and Tyler Lewis don't care that Scott can't get open Tyler Lewis will, will Scott wood open. Warren is an efficient shooter.

more worried about the front court. especially if CJ jumps. Warren is a face up guy. Howell will still be club hands Howell and don't even get me started on Painter. need size - see FSU ans UNC games

the saving grace TBDV will be back with a vengeance.

of course if we get Jefferson it's all a moot point.

You've never seen Jefferson play have you? Well, maybe that's harsh. He's great, and would certainly help, but he's definitely undersized for the 5, and really the 4.

in addition to butchering the english language, you may be overvaluing our incoming class.

Unfortunately, I don't really think we have any 3-point marksmen coming in next year's class. I do think Warren and Purvis are decent shooters. But at least Purvis will be able to get his shot off against anyone, and I do think his 3-point shot is better than Brown (our only other guy who can really "pull-up" and get his shot off over most people).

Hopefully Lewis will be able to hit the wide open 3. I don't expect more than that from him in the long-range department. I think Graham is a better shooter than any of the guys we've got coming in next year. So whether it's '12 or '13...I'd really really like him on this team. He might not be as powerful as Purvis, but he's plenty athletic and has a nice shot.

I'd really like a big man to fill out this class, but I'd cautiously optimistic about what Vandy can bring to the table next year. He was already leaps and bounds better this year than the previous. With Howell/Painter/Vandy coming back and hopefully a decent improvement of TDT...we should be more than adequate in the paint next year. But if we strike out with big men in this class, it puts a HUGE emphasis on 2013 and big men. We can't gamble on projects or just decent guys...we need some immediate impact big men to fill the voids of Howell and Painter leaving.

Good assessment.

I do think you'll be surprised out how well Warren shoots the 3. He'll be our best shooter next season aside from Wood.

hopefully harris will also become a semi-reliable shooting threat next year (and tdt is supposed to be able step-out beyond the arc. he hasn't shown a glimmer of that yet though)

I don't think Harris is up to speed yet, literally...he just plays too slow and looks tentative...granted when you hardly ever play thats to be somewhat expected, but even from just watching him in that ESPNU thing a few weeks ago in practice, he didn't look like he was ready yet

I've heard Warren is a really solid shooter. He's gonna kill it in the high-post offense. (think of how many open looks CJL and Painter get up top ... and how many they miss).

The few times I've seen Lewis play, he's hit almost every 3 he's taken. He's also got a great pull-up jump shot off the dribble. He's shooting style is a little unorthodox, but it goes in.

Will the recruiting class be able to deliver asap? We have players like Leslie get into the groove only in his sophomore season I guess. How many of them are college ready? I guess Warren is, but Lewis is not?

I think Lewis will be just fine. He'll be behind brown. By the time we really need him to deliver he will have had plenty of time in the system. From what I have seen he plays within his limits, and knows them...which is saying a lot for an incoming fresh.

Leslie wasn't ready from a skill stand point (he couldn't shoot or handle the ball).

All three guys will be ready from a skill stand point next year, with only Lewis having trouble with being ready physically.

They're are all ready to get significant minutes. Lewis will most likely assume the Alex Johnson role. Around 15 minutes a game unless someone gets in major foul trouble. Purvis will see plenty of time with CJW gone. Warren's situation will be interesting to watch because he's the most offensively ready player of the 3, but the least defensively ready. (of course, imo)
