I got a drinking ticket my freshman year. I was in a room where people were drinking, but I wasn't. A few weeks later when I had to meet with the RD about it, she asked me how I pled. I told her not guilty. She said I was guilty anyway and sentenced me to some minor bullshit punishment, which sort of begs the question why the fuck did she even ask me anything about it. University Housing is complete bullshit.

It is who you think it is, Juiceyman. My old residents confirmed it to me. Wow, this is incredibly the last thing to do that ever crossed my mind as an RA, even though I know kids from the dorm posted pics on TWW of similar things last year.

Still, from an RA viewpoint, they shouldn't have been drinking or been stupid enough to take pictures.

The alcohol rule was changed this year from being able to stay in someone's room if you were under 21 if someone else was drinking, to solely the roommate was allowed. This is why we tried to pair up legal age kids together and underage together to avoid this.

Still, it's pretty hard to avoid putting a 25 year old Dutch guy with a 20 year old, or something along those lines.

Yes, you got a slap on the wrist and moved on. That's the intention of it, and also why they can get this crap from Facebook. However, it's not always as clear and quick as that. If you fill out an application where they require to get a letter from student conduct with all that you have/have not done your past violations will be on there.

Not saying that's a big deal, it won't ever matter or come up for 98% of people. But for some things that will give you a big red YOU HAD ALCOHOL on an application for something.

Yes, 90% of your chances of getting in trouble with student conduct will come from something related to the dorm or RA that's a stuckup bitch and wants to see you get in trouble for something. That or maybe cheating on something. But that cheating shit's fo real. bad news if you get caught doin that.

and that's something that will go on one of your "records". But the university wasn't ever falling over itself to sell on campus living. in case you haven't noticed. just treat people like shit, they still pay.

Pretty much everyone I have known from CCC might have an opinion on what people around them are doing, but they don't go trying to stop them unless it's hurting their health or safety. What I meant was,

Let's say that 2 of you are in a room. Your roommate is 21 and you're not. If he was drinking, you could still be there, and so could people also under 21, as long as you weren't caught drinking you were ok. This is the distinct principle I operated under for the last 2 years as an RA there. No prob.

Now, from what I hear, it's been changed to, if you're 21 and your roommate is not, then you can be there if they're drinking, but no one else can be. So no underage people can be in there.

Subtle difference, large consequences.
