I love watching infomercials but I rarely buy something off them.

Over the New Year's holiday, I kept seeing the informerical for Salon Express.
https://www.asseenontv.com/salon-express/detail.php?p=365366

I ended up ordering it off of Amazon and it came on Friday. Holy shit, this thing is awesome and so much fun. I painted my nails w/ red nailpolish and then used white nail polish for the nail stamp.

I just ordered more nail stamp disks. I know some of you guys babysit and I bet this would be a great rainy day activity

Just bought a pair of these for the winter months at the gym.....

I've never owned anything by Under Armour. I've heard great things about them and Biofreak70 uses some of their stuff for disc golf. Anybody here have any opinions on their women's gear? (Other than their underwear)

I tried on some of their tights a couple days ago and I liked them a lot. But I found some others I liked a little better. I got them at TJ Maxx for really cheap. My friend said she also has a pair of theirs and loves them.

Are they cool enough? I tend to get really overheated when I wear pants. But I don't spend a lot of money on my workout clothes. So, if they breathe better, I don't mind spending some more money.

Have you tried tights at all? I am usually pretty hot-natured too but I haven't felt like they were too warm.

Haven't tried the tights, just the calf length pants from Target. I'll have to try the tights.

I got some Avia running pants like the ones posted above that I bought from Marshall's and LOVE! I ran in them in the turkey trot and jingle bell run and I ran in them while in London. Definitely keep my legs warm without overheating and the waist band doesn't pull down or budge. I have 2 pairs of yoga pants I love to wear but they're impossible to run or work out in because they fall down

You should check out Old Navy's workout pants

I'm kind of obsessed. My next purchase will be the leggings. I have the capris like that, and they're so fantastic!

@ piddlebug - I swear by all UA gear! It's getting to be the only stuff I wear to the gym these days.

I've been using their cold-gear tights for 5-6 years now, and I love them. Especially on those heavy snow days (though I guess that's not so much an issue for you )

Their loose-fit sweat pants are great for a jog on cold windy days, and breath better than any others I've tried.

Their semi-fitted heat gear short sleeve shirts are great. not too loose to be in the way, but not overly tight. I use them in the winter under a light jacket or by themselves in the summer.

Their ribbed tank is also one of my faves - great for summer activities (tossing a disc with B was the usual), but also good under a jacket for my jog to the gym.

And if you're ever in the market for shoes, I've liked the running shoes I got from UA. I'm switching to a different style of shoe now, but for the past 1-2 years, their shoe has done well for me.

OH! Almost forgot - I tried one of their sports bras meant for the larger boobies - don't remember the name, but it has a zip-up front. It is NOT good. It's the only under armour gear I have ever disliked.

Nah I use Nivea Essentially Enriched lotion....I got that black girl dry skin. Some may think it's a lil greasy, but I find most other lotions to be too watery. This lasts all day for me which is great

ok so I'm leaving for the Bahamas tomorrow night. Tried to find my bathing suit last night and this morning to no luck.

I'm hoping stores still have their swimwear on mega discount like they did the past few months.

Anybody know any stores around town that have cheap swimwear?

I waited too long to jump on the swimwear deals

I'm going to try Kohls at Brier Creek tonight b/c I have a 20% coupon. If I don't find anything, I'll swing by the Brier Creek Target.

That's a really nice mat ward room, but it isn't like the ones at Rex are caves. Our room was huge, hardwood floors, comfy seating for guests, and flat screen and DVD player. The real perk I see in that room is more space, a real bed for the partner to sleep (versus the cot or fold out chair) & a larger kitchenette. *shrug*

I'm glad I went and tried them on though. One cut I wear an 8.5 and the other a 9. I'll be able to post em up in here in about an hour or so.

I was reading somehwere that it was bunk (paying the $1.3 million for a blocked off wing of the hospital and keeping other parents from seeing their babies bc of the entourage security) but they still had the best room which is totally ok just as long as they weren't keeping other people from their babies.

Thanks for the link, LunaK.

I do think if you have money and you can spend on the best room that would be something I would totally do, I was just bitching because of the story of the dad who couldn't get to his premature daughters.
I was wrong, I think.

OK! so I finally tried on some Fryes today. I'm leaning towards the short Harness (which is the classic Frye style) or the tall Veronica Slouch. Aside from helping me decide on a style, I'm really glad I tried them on b4 ordering b/c I wear an 8.5 in the Harness and a 9 in the Slouch.

Now...I'm not getting either pair in the colors shown. I'm either getting the Harness in tan or smoke, and the Slouch in dark brown.

These aren't your cutesy trend boots (as such I'm not expecting everyone to like em). These are badass, well made, lifetime kind of boots. And they are $texas so I can only buy one pair. So what say you ladies of TWW?

Harness. http://www.thefryecompany.com/womens-boots/bestsellers/77300/harness-12r

Slouch. http://www.thefryecompany.com/womens-boots/bestsellers/77609/veronica-slouch

Also...after taking these I realized I REALLY needed new jeans. So off I went and scored some signature levis at TJ Maxx for $10

but that's just because the harness looks like what all the ragged bikers i know wear and we used to sell shit loads of them to nasty truckers when i worked at the truck stop...

lol nice casey

^see that's the deterring factor for me with the slouch! the 8.5 fit much better around my calf, but it was ridiculously tight on my feet with the way the shoe was cut. but i kind of like the rounded toe and heel more on the slouch.

i'm wondering if i went with the 15 harness instead of the 12 (cuff height) that i would like em more.

I love the harness in brown

It does look a little biker like in black....but its the classic frye which makes it all ok

Now...to confuse matters even more, are those the only 2 types you liked? Did you get to try on all kinds?

well i could have, but i've been gravitating toward those two the most so those were the only ones i tried on. i'm gonna go back and try on the 15 harness, and i'll prolly explore other options. i also want to go back wearing leggings and a skirt this next time.

i know i def don't want the cowboy boot style. some of the riding ones were cool...but again these two are my favorite.

and you're right the classic frye is just so great...and the brown is definitely less biker-y.

So I found a photo of the slouch, and they don't look so bad

Then again its not on someone's foot, so I didn't even see the slouch BUT they're gorgeous in the chestnut brownish color

Here's Vanessa Manillo wearing them (and they still make her ankles look huge, but I don't think you can avoid that). They're cute tho!

yes! so gorgeous. those are the exact ones i want in the slouch.

oh decisions decisions.

i think going back and giving the 15 harness a chance plus trying them on with leggings will be the ultimate decision maker.
