I applaud howell for getting into shape during the offseason but if he could have worked on his game at all, that would have been good too

Leslie get's a chop for not drinking some damn water. No doubt

He lost us the Stanford game, for sure, and we would have been right in it if we didn't have to play Jordan Vandenberg against fucking Fab Melo

Half chop to Lorenzo Brown for playing like Alex Johnson at the end of games

If you really try to be objective, it wasn't that bad of a loss. Actually it was awesome that we came back to tie the game after being down so much. The problem is that the moment they get in a game, they plateau. Really, we aint bad for a first year coach.

Hopefully we play well at the end of the year.

Leslie's dehydration thing is ridiculous, especially sense it has been identified in previous games and has apparently still not been addressed, how hard is it to fucking hydrate yourself knowing you've had problems with it already.

Also, Vandy is the most spastic freak I've ever seen with the ball, there was a moment where they passed to him in the middle of the zone and I thought he was going to knock himself out with all the fucking flailing he was doing.

And of course, defense.

This game just makes me It's like hey here's what we could be...but here's what we actually are and its shit.

This is one loss we shouldn't be upset about. Stanford and Indiana were different stories because of the epic collapses to team that are, imo, not superior to ours talent-wise. If we have equal or better talent, coaching should take us over the top.

For this game, we were out-classed in every way.

We lose one player, and it turns in to a blowout from an even game. That's how much depth we lack. I hope Gott can sign another high profile big, cause we need one badly.

I do agree that Syracuse Has a crazy talented lineup. Seems like their roles players would be stars at other schools. We are close to being an upper tier team talent wise we just gotta solidly our bench. Alex Johnson, De Thaey, Harris, Painter, Vandy have all been busts so far

The announcers were talking about how Calvin has been having dehydration troubles. It's simple, this is all Powerade's fault. It's just not as good as Gatorade. So contrary to the belief that our Adidas contract is holding us back, it's Powerade that we can blame for all of our athletic troubles.

For real though, I hope we don't go from Adidas to Under Armor in the coming years as has been rumored. Sure the fan apparel is not bad, but their shoes are God awful. They are an apparel company trying to make shoes. If we switch to them, expect our number of ankle sprains and foot injuries to go up moreso than normal.

^^^^^ Painter and AJ are busts since they are upperclassmen and they still suck. TDT and Harris play like the freshmen they are. Front court players take a long time to develop. That's a long-standing rule of college ball. Vandy and Howell are probably busts, as well.

Painter and AJ can still find a groove that will help us in an ACC tourney run.

Harris will be a very good starter, I predict. If we don't have depth and are forced to play TDT, I think he will do well. His job is to rebound and hustle, and he's done that every time he was in today. He could have played more than Painter, Vandy, or Harris as far as I am concerned. Those guys gave us nothing.

painter isnt bad if he's a back up. calvin going down every game and howell chopping it up is overexposing him. same thing with our lack of depth causing harris to get exposed as a raw freshman

we had 21 assists on 30 baskets

Outrebounded them

shot 57% from the field and 50% from 3pt

Zo had had 13 assists to 3 TOs

What killed us was our depth and 18 fucking TOs

Leslie was a bull in a china shop at the end of the first half. I think all of his 5 TOs were around then

Cuse outplayed us 1 on 1

"busts" might be a little harsh (especially for the freshmen), but I agree with this for the most part. Our starting 5 was beating Syracuse and brought us back in the 2nd half. We just don't have the depth at this point to win these games. If Harris, TDT, and others can develop as then season progresses (and, obviously, in the offseason) it will help greatly. But right now, there is a huge drop off when CJL and Brown, for example, come off and Harris and Johnson come in. I really like our starting 5, but depth is a big issue. The recruits will definitely help that.

And CJL's cramping issue is puzzling. We really need 30 minutes or more from him...can't have him cramping up after ~20 minutes.

Vandy just couldn't do anything tonight...pretty much 5 on 4 when he's in there. The converged on him so quickly when he got the ball he couldn't pass out. All we really needed him to do offensively was draw the zone in on him and kick it out - he couldn't.

Our games are gonna pretty much depend on our starting five running up a big enough lead that the bench can't blow it, or we will lose. Top half of the acc. Not much more.

Doesn't Duke play their starters a crazy amount of minutes? We basically need to do that with Lo, Wood, and Leslie. We have to use the time outs better, and we need to get to the line more.

FYI, they have 5 players who get >20 mins, and we have 7

[Edited on December 17, 2011 at 9:39 PM. Reason : The 5 are all McD AAs, I think. I look forward to the day when our roster is similarly stacked]

What's the time limit on blaming Lowe for everything? Probably the same as the limit on blaming Bush for everything.

Looking at the results and watching the game, it came down to the turnovers. We were relatively identical in all categories except that we had over twice as many TOs. All in all, I am not entirely unhappy with the results.
