I'm no LF apologists. I don't know the guy, and except for his few letters and chats w/ the media, i really don't know what he does as an AD. I'm pretty sure most people don't really know either. But if the ultimate goal of the AD is to produce a winning athletic department, particularly in the revenue sports, he hasn't got the job done.

But chastising him for those pics is stupid. He goes on vacation and has a good time. So what? He smokes cigars and sings a little karaoke. So? He looks a bit like Jed Clampett. So? It's all pretty funny, but it's petty to be cruel about it.

Attacking him as a person is stupid and destroys credibility. You don't need to go there.

What isn't stupid is examining the state of our athletics as a whole and realizing a change at the top is needed for any progress. If you compare our recruiting budgets to Carolina in football and basketball, we get put to shame. If our fuhcilities for these programs are already top notch then why can't we redirect money to produce results on the field?

Well I will make you guys really happy. A buddy of mine who has known the gymnastics coach for many years spoke with him tonight on campus. Mark pretty much in a very political correct way told this guy that he believes he will have another boss by next year. Also he says the new chancellor is going to do great things he says. The chancellor came for Purdue which has had great success in football and basketball, however they don't have gymnastics which worries him but besides cross country he has had the most success.

Good to hear. Inside info is always a good thing to have. We've heard threads he may be gone by the end of the school year, but you can never believe the Fowler rumors - we've had our hearts broken too many times.

Also the pics are funny, but it does no good to attack the guy as a person. I'm sure he's a fine guy, others have said so. I just don't want him to be our AD anymore, that was all anyone ever wanted. No one really wants to attack him as a person, that's just bad.
