that is false, and you know it. If you don't know it, then you are just ignorant.

replace 40 percent with 15 percent if you want

you're still supplying criminals with guns

^ of course that 15% is all of us selling to unlicensed people. Surely the large majority of that 15% weren't sold to people that have ppp or ccw permits and have already had a background check.

Go troll elsewhere.

And bars supply people with alcohol that causes drunk driving deaths, should we outlaw bars or alcohol?

maybe because alcohol and crowbars aren't nearly as effective murder weapons as guns

all gun sales should require background checks

close the loophole

even though its off topic, lets look at the numbers:

In 2010, 10,228 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one-third (31%) of all traffic-related deaths in the United States

Every day, almost 30 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This amounts to one death every 48 minutes.1 The annual cost of alcohol-related crashes totals more than $51 billion

In 2010, firearm homicides number of deaths: 11,078

All of the info is provided by the CDC

And that's just vehicular altercation fatalities. That doesn't include those who abuse it, die from alcohol poisoning or liver failure from long term heavy consumption...

Regardless... We don't need to responds/react to the troll's posts. Stop feeding him.

without regulation of driving privileges and aggressive enforcement of drunk driving laws, can you imagine how many more would die? I'm glad we as a society have decided those things are important. I look forward to the day we place the same importance on reducing gun violence.

Wake County Ordinance:

§ 130.03 WITHIN 100 YARDS OF A PUBLIC BUILDING.

It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any firearm within 100 yards of any building reasonably likely to be occupied, including, but not limited to, any school, church, warehouse or any playground or park.

(1984 Code, § 2-9-18) (Ord. passed 5-4-1981; Ord. passed 6-4-2001) Penalty, see § 10.99

per http://www.amlegal.com/library/nc/wakecounty.shtml

Someone needs to be responsible for discharging that firearm and injuring those people, and I'm not asking for a scapegoat. Negligence should be reprimanded and if it was the officer, (s)he should (wo)man up and take responsibility for their negligence. There is a severe lack of accountability in this society and it pisses me off.

I couldn't imagine a judge could hand down a punishment more sever than what the gun owner is probably receiving after his name was printed in every state new publication and several national news sites.
If he wasn't already a doomsday prepper who lives in a shack in the wilderness or some crazy underground bunker, he probably wishes he was now.

^yea, I'm an AR fan too and I would really like to have one. However, I could hunt with the FAL and it's .308 rounds. I think I could also turn around and sell it for profit on armslist and use that cash to buy and AR. Decisions decisions.....

walmart has a 3 pack limit.
was able to pick up 3 100packs of federal .223 for $111 (total)

if there wasnt a limit i would have had 4 100 packs, and a case (minus 2) of federal AR .223.

but im kind of glad there is a limit because the guy in front of me would have bought all the .223.
he wasnt patient and jumped on the federal 20round packs. and i asked what the other box of federal was and she opened it and it was the 100round packs.

it's pretty much a brand new rifle. they're good shooters. brand new criterion barrel. brand new CMP wood. most of the metal is gonna be re-parkerized. they come in .30-06 too.

you're probably thinking of some of the old worn out navy 7.62 conversion garands

one of the requirements to purchase from CMP is that you be a member of an affiliated club. ENC Firing Range is an affiliated club. i don't have a membership there, so i just joined the Garand Collectors Association by mail. the cool thing about the GCA is they automatically send CMP an updated list of their membership weekly, so you don't have to prove membership, just tell them you're a GCA member and they'll check the list for your name.

another requirement is "proof of firearms activity". an NC CHP fulfills this requirement because it includes live-fire. if you don't have a CHP, they have a form you can print out and take to the range. you get a range officer to watch you shoot and he'll sign it verifying that you actually shoot. it's kinda goofy.

I attended the Appleseed event and passed as a Rifleman. They gave me a badge. I guess that badge is my ticket into CMP? haha. I think the program is cool, the rifles are cool, etc., I just don't have the blow money on a garand

"Does coming to an Appleseed shoot qualify as the marksmanship activity I need in order to obtain a CMP M1 Garand or 1903A3 rifle?

Yes. So, if you'd like to get a real piece of history, while at the same time learning to shoot it, sign up for an Appleseed shoot. While you're at it, sign up for a $20 associate RWVA membership to support Appleseed (and meet the CMP-club membership requirement)."

http://appleseedinfo.org/as_faq.html

simply participating in an appleseed only fulfills the "firearms activity" requirement. you still need to be a member of an affiliated club (that site suggests RWVA).

service grade garands go up in value every year. they're a better investment than just about anything. CMP will run out of service grades at some point. probably sooner rather than later. i couldn't afford not to go ahead and get one.

they've already sold out of the collector grade and correct grades. once the service grades are gone, all that will be left are the rack grades, which can be hit or miss. service grades are quality rifles that aren't so nice you'd be afraid to go shoot them.
