Because it was reviewed really well, it was cheap and the dude and sovereign was all about it over guns that were twice the price.

Rainier is awesome to work with, I have had nothing but great experiences ordering from them. Can't exactly say the same about PSA...

i ordered a pink midlength furniture set from PSA. they sent a set with a carbine length handguard twice. finally got a girl to go to the shelf and lay her hands on a pink midlength handguard and count the holes. shipped the second carbine length back and a few weeks later i still hadn't received the midlength. called them up and they were waiting for the carbine length to return to them. she tracked it and it showed they'd received it. finally got the midlength a day or two later.

their customer service folks were extremely nice and helpful, but apparently they have some derps putting together orders.

Liberals love a good game of unwinnable-whackamole.

It distracts them from the drudgery of their normally mundane lives and puts those precious few braincells into overdrive.

Is $50 for a 30 rd mag for a mini 14 ruger a solid price?

Wow...

I have been struggling with if I should sell my billet lower I got for pre crazy prices. Part of me just wants to make some quick money on it, part of me wants to sell it because I know it will turn into another rifle, and the other part of me wants it to turn into another rifle

If it is a ruger mag, it is probably worth it. I think they have always been harder to come by than m4 mags. I dont know why ruger didnt just make the mini 14 handle m4 mags to begin with. Well I do, but you know what I mean.

they didn't design it to use AR mags because back in the early 70s they had no idea that the AR would turn into what it is today and that STANAG mags would be the standard they have become

[Edited on February 1, 2013 at 9:45 PM. Reason : they might've still been covered under patents back then too. not sure.]

that seems to be about the going price nowadays. personally, i'd sell that mini 14 while prices are high, then wait for this to blow over and buy an AR. AR > Mini 14. fact.

^^the ruger costs way more and is known for its relative inaccuracy. it's not as customizable and mags/stripper clips/chargers aren't nearly as easy to find or cheap. the mini 14 is for dusty old farts who don't want a EBR.

it was my grandfathers and he left it to me after he passed away. I'll prolly just hang on to it since my pops said i could have one of his AR's. Also have a M1 carbine laying around somewhere as well.

Its not the first generation but I believe its the 2nd gen ranch rifle. (dont have the gun in front of me atm)

I picked up a 20 rd mag for 30 the other day but found some 30's for 50 a piece. I doubt they are ruger mags since they seem to go for $80+ as far as i can tell.

^^in that case, yeah, hang on to it for sure. if you've already got a 20 rd mag, i wouldn't waste money on more mags now. i like the 20s better anyway.

NC HB 49

my employer says we can't have handguns in our personal vehicles when on company property, but long guns are ok. this bill would mean my company can no longer disarm me anywhere i may stop on my way to or from work. please contact your state reps and tell them to vote for it.

[Edited on February 2, 2013 at 7:22 AM. Reason : my coworkers in florida don't have to comply b/c FL already has this law]

I love long rails and I love the NSR but my 15" Evo rail is about as long as I'd want on my 18" setup (unless I was running a can of course). Would still like to see how it looks.

Yeah I'm putting the 16.7" NSR on an 18" build, and waiting on the 15" NSR to come out to put it on my 16" lightweight pencil setup. The 18" with the 16.7" NSR should look something like this:

I'm thinking about picking up a little subcompact .380. I know they aren't the most fun/comfortable to shoot, but I want something that I will actually carry and can carry comfortably (I tend to wear fitting clothes). Anyone care to try and change my mind?
