As I pointed out before, tactical bacon is actually a really good food for such occasions. It's high energy, it tastes GREAT and the can itself is a huge morale booster.

Milk and bread should not be the things you purchase when it snows. That shit makes no sense. I don't care if you store it in your god damned driveway or not. It's fucking retarded son.

I watched all sorts of jerks at my apartment complex go slipping and sliding this morning. Including the idiot maintenance manager that slid his golf cart into a curb and got it stuck

It wouldn't have made for a very interesting pic sadly. Video might have been good though, he was cussing up a storm (at least I'm pretty sure it was cussing. It was very angry and rapid Spanish ).

If the roads are that bad, why doesn't state cancel the rest of today?

This is madness. I just ice skated to take the trash out and everything is under a sheet of ice... cars, streets, grass... everything was slick.

Just took a short drive around Cary and the roads look pretty decent. Still some slick spots though, and you could definitely end up in a ditch if you're not careful. Made it back up my driveway too!

Does this mean I am not to be counted absent since my *off campus* parking lot is all icy? I'm not trying to wreck my shit because the provost is trying to be a hardass.

No, that is the direction for snow.

There is no driving on ice, because you have no traction. There is no driving, no steering, no braking, no nothing on ice.

No one can clarify the above policy for me? Does that mean that no one is expect on campus *at all* or just during the closure (in even of a delay, such as today)?

Sure there is. I've been driving in my 94' Honda Civic all last night and today on 100% complete sheets of ice. You just accelerate, brake, and turn slow and you're fine. The ONLY major problem with driving on ice is hills. You have to get enough momentum to go up them and you have to make sure not to lose traction going down them but other than that just watch out for crazy drivers.

A while ago I'm on the wolfline, and this older black guy gets on and starts talking to the bus driver.

Driver: "Hey man, how was your holiday?"
Guy: "Real nice, except for the snow. You know colored people can't stand snow." Then he looks at me and says, "No offense."

I have no idea how to take the "no offense."

He then proceeded to comment that it was difficult for him to "get his groove on when I be tripping and slipping and shit. It's fucked up."
