Look for all the undecided guys to commit after April 10th. that way they know everyone that is going to turn Pro.

don't hold your breath before then.

^ Super lame by the way. People use to be sharks and want to prove their worth, but these guys go for the easiest possible scenarios so that they don't risk turning into somebody like Chris Duhon.

Living your life for yourself is super lame. These guys need to consult with Banjoman on how best to make the fans happy.

75% of the undecided are simply waiting on UK's players to move. Calipari's one and done machine is in full effect, love it or hate it.

We're still in it for Jefferson.

Andrew Young is visiting campus on the 14th.

Alex Oriakhi was contacted by staff after UConn released him.

Are we trying to sign 1 big man, or 2? Looks like our staff is pretty worried about Leslie leaving. Otherwise Oriakhi doesn't make much sense on our roster.

So we'd have at minimum 3 big men leaving after 2012-2013? Id rather use the scholarship on a guy who will be around a few years so we're not screwed in 2013-2014

We sure oriakhi is a good fit?

I don't think it's that they're necessarily worried...it's smart to have a backup plan, no matter how small the chance of him leaving. Apparently Andrew Young doesn't have a commitable offer from us yet, and he's our backup plan if CJL bounces (which I really don't think is gonna happen).

Not that he wouldn't help us next year...but if Leslie returns, we're perfectly fine in the front court. 2013 big men is what we need...and he is not one of those.

Seems like we need to recruit a shooting guard, since our backcourt consists of Lo Brown, 2 freshmen and some dude named Jaqawn.

getting a big man this season to groom for the 2013 season is much more crucial than gettin a sg in this class. there's still the possiblity that st torian graham may join us in 2013.

I'd much rather have Jefferson or Young. But if we can't get any other big men, i'd be happy with Bojanovsky.

Legit 7 footers are so rare in college ball because all the good ones leave early for the pros. At any given time in the US, there are only 70 native born seven footers aged 20-40 in the entire US*. If you're born seven feet tall in this country, you have a seventeen percent chance to play in the NBA. If you're 6'8"? 0.07%. Whitey is a scrub at the next level, and you saw what he did to us. In a game involving throwing a ball through a ten-foot cylinder, it’s hard to overemphasize the importance of height. I say we get at many tall motherfuckers as possible and cross our fingers they pan out.

Without knowing anything about this guy, most of these players turn out to be projects and never pan out. Not the kind of guy you want to recruit as a practice.

We'll have at least 3 or 4 scholarship opening up in 2013. Like I said, if we can't get any other big-men in this class, I'd take the 7'3" guy, we need to start building some depth in the front court for when we lose Howell, Painter and Leslie. From looking at one video, Bojo definitely looks like a project, but he's somewhat athletic and isn't a total klutz. He can actually run without looking like a baby giraffe. Hopefully he'd be a decent contributor at least by his junior year (which I'm hoping/expecting Vandenburg will be).

so i guess the good news is that Shabaaz Muhammad goes to UK instead of Duke and any other undeclared guys go to UK instead of UNC

but the bad news is Amile Jefferson goes to UK

So, why didnt Vandy play at all this year ...

I thought he had moments of legitimacy here and there ... and maybe could have helped the relieve howell/leslie/painter vs UNC/Kansas/Duke at times ...

Is he injured or redshirting or did I miss something.

Pretty sure he could have played the 2nd half of the year. I think coach decided that it would be more helpful to the team spread out the scholarships amongst the big men. That means we have Vandy for '13/14 instead of losing all three big men next year (Painter/Howell/Vandy...possibly four with CJL).

He did have an injury...but it wasn't season ending IIRC. But it happened early enough to where we could use the redshirt. It would have been nice to have had his depth this year, but we weathered the storm and I think Gottfriend was looking at 12/13 as "the year."

it was his shoulder, and it seemed to be fairly minor (no surgery). i think it was coach's decision for spacing (what he said ^)

(^^^for calling people "dipshits" for not understanding the nba-entry stuff, you don't seem to be very informed)
