New page, old question, plus some.

I have these tops to wear for my engagement photo shoot with the most awesomest Joie!

Accessorize me, ladies! You should all know that I am fashion challenged by now. I was thinking sparkly red things with the canes shirt, and maybe a funky bold printed skirt with the nerd shirt. Think bicycles or glasses or something. I am wearing my dark denim leggings with the neon shirt dress. It's super baggy, so I was considering wearing a tighter tank top underneath and unbuttoning some buttons.

Oh! and if someone out there wants to get up early with us on Good Friday and help me with my hair and possibly make up let me know! We could make this a true tww affair! Ability to french braid a HUGE plus!

I found it at a thrift store, but it is from Forever 21. My Mom says it was meant to be mine!

elise try tying that self belt a little tighter then slouching the dress (like its a shirt tucked in if that make sense)

may help with the "baggy" feeling

I will! The main problem I have with it is the problem I have with everything, I'm learning to actually love it. My ass is so big I need a large, but my top could actually fit in a small in some styles.

i can French braid but i have to work until like 12pm on Good Friday

i taught myself by watching lots of youtube videos and practicing on my hair. i was able to master it within about an hour or so and i'm really good at it now. i do french braid across my face to pull my bangs back

I want to have french braided pig tails for one of the outfits, or maybe two. I need to learn anyways, because the girls I take care of are always asking me to braid their dolls hair or their hair. I want to learn all the fancy braids so i can show off on their rapunzel barbies.

Im not a big earring person. Ive had the same earrings in all my holes for almost 2 years, minus changing out the lobe piercings for fancier occassions. I have a lobe piercing in both ears, a cartilage and traegus in my right ear, and an industrial (2 holes) in my left ear. They all have the titanium rainbow or colored captured ball earrings in them.

Im thinking maybe some sparkly red shoes and a sparkly red headband, and some sort of necklace.

I like this headband!

or should I go with clips?

or something like this

OH! and does someone who sews wanna make me a skirt? I'll pay for it! Something like this:

in a pattern to go with the nerd shirt. to clarify, i don't want anything that looks like that fabric, i would like a simple bike print or glasses print or something nerdy. calculators would be awesome, but where does one find calculator print fabric?

[Edited on March 22, 2012 at 11:10 AM. Reason : first skirt got turrible reviews]

The first bow is definitely my favorite. The seller says she could put the same bow on a clip, too.

the gap dress came in yesterday, but to mom's house since she ordered it & now i have to go pick it up. the 2 dresses i ordered come in this afternoon. also i found a dress in the hamper last night that i forgot i had & it still fits. soooo excited! i will probably wear that one this weekend since it most likely won't fit in may.

tonight/tomorrow i have to go shoe & makeup shopping though. not looking forward to it. i think i'm going to get a pair of black flats (ballerina type ones) & then some neutral something else. for makeup, i'm just going to the clinique counter bc i have no idea what i'm doing (except that i have VERY sensitive but very oily skin). i really hope this doesn't take forever

You might have to order the fabric online, but it's worth going to joanns first.

If you can find a skirt already made you like that's not crazy expensive that'll probably be cheaper. Shit adds up quick when sewing stuff, which is why I don't sew much anymore.

i know where to get nerd fabric :3

check this out

http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/806381

and if you don't like what they got, you can upload your own image and have it printed!

I'd offer to do you a skirt but dumb shippings would make it cost too much. maybe try etsy alchemy?

You are looking at 3 yards for a poofy skirt probably. that'd be one expensive skirt!

it's really not that much for 3 yards of fabric

I mean it would be custom...that's pretty damn cheap if you ask me

4^LOVE that fabric store

Id like to buy the fabric and make the skirt but I may cheap out and head to urban outfitters, forever21, or the thrift store.

Making that skirt would be really easy. You just need to gather the waist area. You cold do an elastic or drawstring waistband which is also easy & a simple hem. Anyone who sews can do it in 2-3 hours tops. The cost driver is definitely the fabric.

protip: buy only half a yard of the fancy stuff and have it used as a trim.

if you get the custom made item maybe it will be specialer in the future than whatever grey skirt american apparel has on sale for $9 this week

i got a gather foot that is supposed to make that easy as pie. i haven't really had time to try it yet, but i hope to soon.

i have a gather foot & can't figure it out yet

i need a new table cloth & i'm in love with some fabric i found at ikea. problem is that that shit is $10/yd

i need a 70" circle tablecloth. another problem is that anything i remotely like online is $60.... i can make exactly what i want for $40 so i'm probably going to end up doing that. it will have to have a seam down the middle as the bolt isn't big enough so i will have plenty left over to make matching or coordinating (with another table cloth) place mats

i'm also making curtains for my sliding glass door as the ones i have up are way too small & are finally annoying me enough to do something about it. THAT little project is going to take 5yds of fabric at $10/yd... for one side soooo $100 for curtains?! jesus christ, i'm going to look at joanns again & on fabric.com to see if anything else will work for more like $5/yd

lol i don't really love making curtains, i just want something more interesting than the boring stuff out there! i like bold patterns

they also take an hour or less to make so it's really nothing

i do have a list of projects i want to work on but everything is for the house, like place mats, plastic bag holder, basket liner etc.

I bought the red bow head band from etsy, as well as this

I figure I can find a nice sparkly red necklace somewhere at the mall or something, not sure what to wear with the neon yellow shirtdress/leggings combo though. I may completely geek out in the nerd shirt outfit and wear my new bow and either my diablo potions necklace or my nyan cat necklace, but in that case I will go for a solid colored skirt/pant so I'm not 100% fashion victim, just 90%.

No luck finding a cool rednecklace this weekend. I wanted to find something at a decent price that I would actually rewear.

Also I still have no clue how to accessorize the yellw shirtdress and leggings combo. Any ideas?

they started shipping to canada. i just hope i can skate by without paying import fees since my total was under $100 (go coupons!)

they claim it ships in 6 days and arrives 8-12 days after your order. on the other hand, i have heard it can take longer than that... i don't remember how long it took to my mom's the last time i ordered, but i know it took them longer than 3 days (what they were claiming at the time) to ship it. And the last time i tried to order something they told me they didn't have enough material like 2 weeks later and it took another week and a half to get my money back. If anything goes wrong with this order it will be the last time i try...

Well keep us informed...I forgot about this site lol.

I have 5 different tabs open with dresses I like. I have gotten 2 more wedding invites that I need to start thinking about.

Luckily one is in November so I will probably be smaller by then and can wait to shop

elise, i think the nyan cat or the mushroom bow would be cute with the yellow dress....

wear it as a scarf, a wrap, a cover-up (if big enough)

here's a video from one of my favorite scarf designers

Like this. Pull the ends through, and make a knot. Don't wrap it around, or fold it, just smoosh the fabric together (I can't think of another way to describe it...).
