Sorry if this point has already been made. But why is Pakistan facilitating the peace talks? Weren't they just bombing Afghanistan? I assume it's because they're one of the few countries besides Spain that likes Iran.

Pakistan vs the Taliban is an entirely different conflict.

US has mediated peace talks while involved in other conflicts before, not really out of the ordinary.

They don't, especially. There have been border clashes between the two for years, and each claims the other is supporting separatist/rebel groups inside the other. But next to the white-hot hate that Pakistan and India have for each other, it's fairly low-key.

Pakistan does, however, have diplomatic relations with Iran - as a number of countries do - and Iran probably perceives them as more sympathetic than some alternatives. Pakistan also isn't tainted by involvement in the previous deals Trump has reneged on.

I’d like to know what our adversaries highest intelligence agencies are saying about us. I’m afraid, to some degree, it's what I accused Russia of at the outset of the Ukraine War. Big on whiz bang technology but short on logistics and sustaining itself (as that conflict wears on, I guess this is debatable).

An $800 Billion budget for 2 decades and, after 7 weeks of exchange with a regional power, we are running low on our most badass munitions, can’t fulfill weapons deals to “allies,” the shitter on the aircraft carrier quit working, and the sailors are eating yesterdays trash.

Where did the money go? Just like Russia, it got pocketed by the ultra rich.

I don't know how you expect them to crew their yacht and upgrade their Gulf Streams to the newer models. You expect them to go without a Caviar sommelier on both their yachts?

Iran appears to be losing interest in using Pakistan as a mediator. I doubt Rezaei would make this statement if the IRGC leadership disagreed.
