Yeah yeah Dallas lost...I won't lose any sleep.

Back to the topic at hand. If there really is this much turmoil going on amongst teammates then Sidney is most definitely the one at fault. He has lost this team and must get it back. I am interested to hear more on the players not getting along and people turning on Javi, even if he clearly is not ever going to be an ACC caliber player. rallydurham was right all along. Ill admit I loved Herb but maybe we did need a change. Then with Fowler running the search we ended up hiring the damn guy we had "consulting" for us who offered his services for the job. I honestly didn't like the hire to begin with but loved what he did last year. Now things have really changed.

I think it's a little early to be turning on Lowe.

Granted, I haven't seen much other than recruiting giving me much hope for the future, but Lowe did a great job last year. Hopefully he can get this straightened out.

We just need someone who can consistently shoot the damn ball and a top notch PG and we'll be fine. We just can't do shit now becuase we only have size and they're sitting back playing zone.

I'm not turning on Lowe, but at this point, he no longer gets a free pass. Like a lot of people have said, the only reason he has any support whatsoever is the home win vs. UNC last year and the ACC/NIT tournament runs. The team has looked like complete shit this year from day one. The offense has been get the ball to Hickson, and if that doesn't work, swing it around the perimeter until someone bricks a jump shot with the clock expiring. Losses to shitty teams, getting embarrased by good teams, and barely beating one win teams is unacceptable. Like everyone else, I was suckered into thinking this would be our year, and that has completely blown up in our faces. If he can't salvage this mess into at least a 9-7 ACC record and an NCAA birth, then it's time to start looking for a new coach.

wasnt our FG % like 17.6% in the first half?

with something like that, yeah he is on watch IMO.

but oh well. i think for the first time, i could have done better (playing, not coaching.. well maybe coaching also)

Sidney Lowe's put together a team that could be beaten at your local YMCA. And there has been zero improvement, if anything it has gotten worse.

The worst thing that can happen to us is an NIT birth this year and I have a feeling we might pull something like that out.

The results from our team has to be consistently bad, or we're going for another herb experiment.

no, the worst thing that can happen to us is going 0-15 the rest of the way

which is plausible at this point

Now I accepted and even enjoyed the NIT berth last year since we had a short bench, first year coach, and lost a few key seniors. This year we were supposed to be challenging for the conference (which is still, albeit unlikely, in reach) and a high seed in the tourney. We've asked a lot out of this team internally thru Sidney and Gavin's prediction (in friggen August), and thru our high expectations as fans. They are acting right now like they are rebellious against the system and each other and now it's showing. I'll definitely be paying attention to this team in the offseason to see the fireworks, or see how they put up, shut up, and just get along.

We shouldn't be accepting an NIT berth. I'll reserve judgement until we get thru a good chunk of conference play.

we're using it. our isolation plays aren't working because...well, they just aren't.

we don't have a pg capable enough to pick and roll.

i want to kill myself.

For what it's worth, Javi made a nice pick and roll pass to Hickson during the first half

Unfortunately Hickson missed the 3ft jumper

Ok, how long does it take Fowler to fire Lowe IF our teams remain as bad as this years team?

Also, can we please get some better assistants that know how to "coach em up"

In all honesty...as bad as we sucked against UNC, they ARE pretty much hands down the number one team in the nation right now, and are a pretty safe bet to win the NCAA championship without much of a contest. I knew this was coming considering how crappy we did against Michigan State.

I still have hope that we'll at least win 9-10 out of the 15 ACC games we have left, considering that only UNC, Duke, Miami, and Clemson are ranked.

That being said, we'll see how we do against Clemson and Miami over the next week.

Our assistant coaches are not the problem. Maybe Towe should be coaching this team and Lowe can lead recruiting.

Also how long does it take before someone, anyone fires fucking Lee Fowler. What has he accomplished in his pathetic tenure? Honestly we are no better now in anything than when he took over. He should have been fired along with Amato.

^ that was a joke about Towe. Honestly though Lowe is like Amato already = good recruiter, bad coach.

Let's hope to see some type of improvement against Clemson.

exactly. Lowe has been the head coach of the program for 52 games now, almost a year and a half. I don't think anyone should be cutting him any slack.

During that time, he has brought in new players, which he recruited. We should be seeing an up-tempo, NBA-style offense taking shape by now, one that will bring the ACC to its knees.

And lets face it, we thought we knew what we were getting when we hired Lowe - an experienced head coach who knew the ins and outs of the college system, who could come in and produce immediately. Perhaps we were wrong.

He's had more than 50 games to turn the program around. Did it take Guthridge that long after Dean left? How about Pete Carroll - how long until he had USC in the top ten again? John Fox with the Panthers?

I agree, if we don't finish 10-6 in the ACC, or 9-7 at the least (provided we win the ACC tournament) Lowe has to go.

Well, seeing as how we play UNC, Duke and Clemson twice each, that's an automatic 6 losses. So we better win every other ACC game if you want us to finish 10-6. Should be pretty easy to do.

True, but then we shot 58%. I am as disappointed about the game as anyone else, but I do think its a little to early to be turning on anyone. We def need to see some major improvements with the talent that we have got, but what bothers me is the lack of hustle. THe look like they don't even care half the time, what happen to the heart from last year i.e. the ACC tourny.
