doesn't do anything, i do that and nothing changes, i'm connected to the internet (can go to the browzer and pull up anything, i'm signed in correctly, the saved game info above shows 55% done and 20/80 treasures etc but it doesn't translate to my trophies

is this for uncharted 1?

If so, how long ago did you start the game? If you started the save file before the most recent software update (not sure when it was, but probably 6-8 months ago) then that save file won't support trophies and you'd have to start a new game with the newest software

Infamous might be a little repetitive, but it's no where NEARLY as bad in that department as Prototype was. I remember the last 1/3rd of that game it was a chore just playing to beat the game and get rid of it. I hated Prototype by the time I finished playing.

so the menu is a little slow, but so is playon. i enjoy being able to edit my queue but i wish the browsing was a little better.

video playback is so far working flawlessly, much better than playon. if its true that this is just a quick release and sony will eventually have a firmware update then i'm really excited.

when you log on first you activate your ps3

then you have a menu with instant queue, recently watched, new arrivals movies, new arrivals tv, action, comedy, etc...

it appears that each has 100 titles to browse through, i'm guessing the 100 most popular from the online selection.

you can quickly view the descriptions and ratings for any of the movies and can play them, add them to your queue or rate them easily. when you play there is a small delay while the movie loads and then it plays. the image and sound quality looked great on my 32" LCD screen, i have no idea if it is actually DVD quality but i can't tell the difference (this was with some random rugby movie i picked)

while playing the movie the pause, fast forward, rewind, etc... are a little sluggish. they look similar to the display while fast forwarding or rewinding on a computer.

overall i'm satisfied for now, even though i have to put a disk in i'll definitely be using this instead of playon

I wish I knew about the netflix disc earlier. I bought playon about a month ago and find it to be very buggy. I did install PS3 Media Server and have been happy with it after I tweaked some of the settings. I like how it can play ISOs and detect and play Video_TS folders.

and another question...regarding my NAT setup and online.

When i first got my ps3 i went into my router and did all of the port forwarding and everything that was outlined in one of the ps3 online sites. however i still show strict NAT on the new COD. Anyone have any tips or steps i may have missed in getting this to work correctly?

Right now i'm playing over wifi (yeah i know, but i have to right now). I forwarded the ports on my router, is there something else i have to do with the modem itself?

Not for at least a year. The disc was a loophole that Netflix/Sony found in in the 2 year exclusivity contract that MS made with Netflix for instant view on the 360. They won't be able to actually integrate it into the XMB until late next year.

Just ordered the PS3 Netflix disc since I'm planning to buy a PS3 in the near future.

It seems like the PS3 Slim is pretty consistent at $299 - without having to go out for Black Friday, are there any better deals than this going on or should I just hop over to Best Buy before the craziness and pick it up?

$299 (120gb) with Ratchet and Clank + Little Big planet on black friday. I can purchase this today between noon-12am because I'm a Silver Rewards member...if you find someone that is a silver reward zone member then you should definitely get in on that deal and beat having to wait in black friday lines. Even if you don't care for those two games you can trade them in.
