Joint ECE/CSC State of the Departments

Both departments are presently split up over 7-8 different buildings; next year we will all be located within EB2. The primary idea behind a joint CSC/ECE state of department meeting is to welcome each other as one large new family. Its second purpose is to allow a direct line of communication between students and the departments, something that has been requested by both the students and the departments.
The format will largely be a town hall style meeting. Each department head is scheduled to give approximately a thirty minute presentation. Dr. Trew is scheduled to give the first presentation at 5:00, and Dr. Vouk the second presentation at 5:30. The floor will then be open to questions by students. After a round of general questions, speakers will split off and talk to students in smaller groups. The presenters have agreed to stay until 8:00 PM. Most likely, questions and discussions will run beyond that period of time; Withers 218 has been reserved until 10:00 PM should that be the case.
