Shelton Leadership Forum (w. Stephen Covey)!

submitted by mmpatel on Monday, September 22 2003 at 12:00 PM

I just got the following email from Mike Giancola with the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics & Public Service that I think a lot of you would be interested in:

There will be several ways for students to attend the upcoming General Shelton Leadership Forum that is scheduled for Nov 13-14, 2003.

1) We have received 30 student scholarships from the Office of Extension and Engagement/Shelton Forum that will allow students to attend the entire forum for free. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON A FIRST-COME BASIS. Interested students should email Leslie Beddingfield in the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, & Public Service (leslie_beddingfield@ncsu.edu) to have their name put on the list.

2) ALL students can attend the following two sessions for free (with a student ID!)

Thursday, November 13, 10-11:45am
Shelton Leadership Seminar (session led by General Shelton with Dr.
Stephen Covey, international consultant and author, Bill Friday, President Emeritus of the UNC System and Orage Quarles, President and Publisher, The News and Observer)

Thursday, November 13, 12 Noon - 2pm
Keynote Address: Leading High Performance Organizations by Dr Stephen Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Principle-Centered Leadership.

Students will be able to watch these seminars via big screen TV in a room at the McKimmon Center. Students can just show up for these two sessions and will need to present their student ID to get in.

I think it's pretty safe to say that the 30 student scholarships have been taken(I'm not completely sure), but everyone can still go with a student ID:

^ Yes, they're all gone.

But do still go! There are some free events open to everyone, and Mital addressed those in #2 of his previous Comment.

I just wanna meet Bill Friday and ask him about the Royal Order of the Rail

As a general statement, though, I'm not a fan of Hugh Shelton at all.
