These idiots assaulting flight staff need to be added to a national do-not-fly list. Why is this such a hard problem? Seems simple. I know I'm by far not the first or only person to think this, and I know that there are some proposals among certain airlines to share their lists of banned passengers, but why hasn't this been done for years already? Flying through the sky is not a human right.

I don't understand being so gentle with these obvious assholes. It's not like the small fraction of idiots grievously misbehaving on flights represent any significant chunk of revenue for airlines and airports that needs to be protected.

I know you do. I'm trying to get one level deeper and understand WHY these people shouldn't be more harshly punished for their horrible behavior. You seem to be saying that's just the way it is (Bruce Hornsby), but that's not really satisfactory. There has to be a reason.
