Listening to Adam Schiff, Chris Krebs, and Fiona Hill on Face The Nation this morning didn't do me any favors either.

Maybe it will be like 2012 how i couldn’t imagine dem winning, but i think it will be reverse of 2020 when it was like “how could trump STILL come so close to winning except he wins”

Won’t sdny have indicted him at that point?

Hopefully, but the wheels of justice are painfully slow. Maybe he'll just choke on a hamberder before 2024 and save us all the drama. Remember when GWB choked on a pretzel?

It will be lots of fun it seems like considering the spineless cowards he is surrounded by:

https://edition.cnn.com/2021/10/13/politics/congressional-republicans-trump-president-2024/index.html

Can we please just lock him up by then?

2024 is gonna suck.

I assume that both parties will nominate non-starters, and unless one of them is someone catastrophic like Trump (or also Sanders or similar), I'll probably sit out.

Sitting out is rarely a good idea. Sometimes you have to vote Turd Sandwich.

I did that last time, but that was an extreme case.

This is, at best, gonna be turd sandwich vs turd sandwich. I’ll probably only vote turd sandwich if one side picks something even worse than that.

I hate when I have to decide between someone attempting to make himself dictator for life and someone that will increase my taxes!! A truly impossible choice.

Increasing taxes at worst probably just means putting them back where they used to be.

As much as I expected Jan 6 and the shit show of 2020 would have prevented Trump from ever being in public again he seems to still be having rallies. Hopefully he's crushed in the primaries and so embarrassed he ends up killing himself by crashing a helicopter into a vacant mall.

Expecting Kamala/Pelosi or just Pelosi against someone like Desantis. About 2 months ago you could get 2000:1 odds on that ticket.

I'm implying she'll already be pres or VP before the election so she's already queued up on the ticket.

There is a much better odds position that Biden isn't in office in 2024.

When the President dies, the VP becomes President, but the Speaker of the House does not become VP.

I wish we could get over our hangup against younger politicians. Younger ppl have been doing great jobs in other countries (New zealand, iceland) we need more here.

People not being happy with Biden is not the same as people wanting Trump. Biden has tied a lot of his image to this infrastructure bill, and the GOP is doing everything they can to sink it. It's like like ACA which made Obama unpopular, but now people don't want to get rid of it.

i'm disappointed with Biden, most broadly speaking, because he is proving to be well to the left of where i expected him to be. I don't plan on voting for him again unless the GOP nominates someone beyond distasteful, to the point of being particularly catastrophic.

A ton of Democrats disappointed in Biden for not being very liberal and anti trump Republicans disappointed because he’s too far left than what they were expecting. Can you give some examples of exactly what he’s done that’s too far left and what you were expecting?

Also it seems pretty likely the republican nominee will be Trump or Desantis, would you say either of them are tasteful enough for your vote? Because they’re both awful

It's hard to be disappointed when I knew Biden would behave exactly as he has been. He's a lukewarm body that's trying desperately to turn the temperature down before the country completely destroys itself, and I also don't see how anyone could expect him to clean up Trump's 4 year mess in 10 months, let alone a full term.

He's also a politician, so if he's going to get rid of student loan debt and raise the minimum wage, he might as well wait a few months after another shitty holiday COVID surge thins the heard a bit so he and the Dems can try and win a few races come midterms.

Rent is obviously different in places like Manhattan compared to Smalltown, USA. Different landlords charge differently. It's not some national blanket. As for inflation, the best solution is for wages to catch up but that's not that easy.

What has Biden done in the last 10 months to make Rent, gas prices, and inflation high do you think? Or what should he have done to make them low?

Regarding inflation, you can purchase up to $10,000 in Series I Savings Bonds annually. Best safe rate of return you're going to find in the current environment.

What policies would Republicans implement to cause inflation to increase less slowly?

Any inflation that we've seen thus far seems to largely be due to global, residual effects from the pandemic.

I'm still puzzling over why anyone would reject Trump on one hand, yet consent to a different Republican with their tongue deep in Trump's ass on the other hand.

I think it's too early to say that those two frontrunners are near-inevitable.

Trump is bad enough that I would vote for Biden again. DeSantis, I'd probably just abstain on that race.

^ I don't think desantis wants to play 2nd fiddle to trump.

I do think desantis would beat trump in a primary though. despite the wing nuts on the right, the broader gop does realize trump is toxic to their ideology as conservatives.

republicans want a "smart trump" . someone who will fight for the white race, but who also knows how to form a competent governing coalition.
