Anybody got these?

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/pamu-slide-born-for-music-never-fall-out

Keep seeing their ads everywhere... very aggressive with the marketing.

They have some seriously impressive specs as far as battery life goes. 10 hours play/talk time (45 days standby), and the case can charge them another 5 times before the case has to be charged, so a total of 60 hours from a fully charged case. The case can also wirelessly charge your phone, so that's a big plus. Plus Bluetooth 5.0, IPX6, auto-pairing, fast charge, and touch control.

A whole bunch of NBA players have video testimonials in the link. Some 100,000 backers and $6 million+ raised.

$69 w/out phone charging feature, $79 with. Will be $199 after campaign, they say.

Thinking of getting them.

Can they be used independently? The big downfall for many of these wireless ear pods, other than airpods, is that 1 side is the master...can’t answer calls on a particular side, or use one side at a time with full functionality

Yes they can, from reading users' FB comments complaining they couldn't figure out how to and the manufacturer responding with instructions.

I placed an order yesterday.

Funny how a month or so ago I got my latest pair of wired earbuds, my most expensive ever, and was dead set against getting Bluetooth ones as I did not want to use up my phone's battery and also did not want to have to charge them frequently.

But these are too good to say no to since they last a long time, plus are ridiculously cheap compared to many of the good ones. Wonder if they will also drain less power as they are Bluetooth 5....

hmmm. i've been using these around the neck wireless headphones for over 3 years. now that wireless earbuds have been around long enough to get past 1st gen tech issues, I've been thinking about getting some. just did a bit of research on these vs other options and these do look pretty good, especially at the current pricepoint. tbh the marketing style and NBA player testimonials are more of a turnoff, but oh well I just bought some anyways.

^ Haha awesome!

Yes, I do agree about the marketing strategy being somewhat of a turnoff.

Interesting... don't know if you are being serious or sarcastic, but they have a "pretty awesome" price too! Didn't know such a thing existed.

But even at a price I would pay, I still wouldn't buy wireless over the ear headphones.

^ Maybe.

But it would be weird to see people walking around with those on their ears.

Either way, it won't potentially become a game changer unless a big brand gets into it, such as Samsung, Apple, LG, Sony, etc.

Looks wise, what about Powerbeats pro? Looks more like a traditional bluetooth earpiece.

I got mine yesterday, finally.

A bit bigger than I expected, but they don't feel bulky whatsoever in the ear. The volume controls didn't work super reliably the couple minutes that I played with them last night. Hoping I'll be able to figure out the magic touch pretty quickly and it won't be a problem.

Got these in the mail yesterday, I am enjoying them so far

https://mifo.us/products/mifo-o5-smart-true-wireless-bluetooth-5-0-earbuds-free-us-shipping

I found them by searching for "best earbuds for staying in your ear" and these have about 7 different pairs of rubber pieces so you can definitely find something that fits your own ears well

though the left one sometimes has the audio cut out for a couple seconds. seems to be an occurrence in various other brands of earbuds. I guess the right one is the primary/master as far as BT connectivity etc so that might explain why it's the left one that goes out, but doesn't happen often

Been having a lot of annoying problems with the Pamu Slides lately. I often use just one at a time and it'd always disconnect after like 30 minutes. Now the charging LEDs don't light up when they're in the case. I've been able to use them still so I'm not sure if they're still charging just no LED or they just haven't quite run out of battery yet. Also I did a factory reset on them a few weeks ago trying to solve the 30 minute disconnect issue, and now the right earbud doesn't pair reliably. Asked them to send me a replacement under warranty. we'll see

Still working after 27 months!!!

Literally the best $70 I have spent on any gadget. A lot cheaper now, at $40, and the company has come out with several different models since. I will keep using mine till they die, which is what I do with all personal electronic devices.

[Edited on December 12, 2021 at 6:06 PM. Reason : ^ did you get the replacement? still working?]

I got irritated with them and went back to my old headphones I mentioned earlier. In August I decided to get one of the new over the neck models which I've been pretty happy with too.

I ended up giving the Pamu Slides to my oldest daughter and she's been content with them

^ That's great that you passed them to your daughter! Still working?

So finally one of mine has failed now for about a couple of weeks. Actually, the housing/casing has become lose, and so all the parts/sensors that should be touching each other inside are not doing that anymore, so it doesn't work 95% of the time. Maybe I need to superglue it shut and maybe that will fix it.

However, good thing that the one still working is the master one, so I just listen to music now with that one. Having said that, the housing of that has also loosened a bit at the seams, so maybe that will die soon too. I would rather fix them than get new ones. So, I will get superglue and do it.

Nearly 30 months life for wireless in-ear earphones fresh off of Kickstarter that cost $70 is impressive. (they cost $40-50 now)

SO, in case I want need to buy new ones, I am wondering if I should go with the same brand (tried and tested, cheap), one of their newer models, or an actual established audio brand such as Sony, Bose, JBL, etc. Of course, those will be more expensive, but I am willing to spend ~$75, maybe up to $100.

Of course I can, and will, Google for them, but do y'all have any recommendations for wireless in-ear buds from established audio names for $100 or under?

You got android or iphone? Is refurb ok?

I guess I’d say powerbeat buds if refurb is ok and under 100, if over 100, i guess i’d say new powerbeat pros(close to $150) or refurb airpods pro.(120’s ish) If it has to be android i guess i’d say samsung galaxy pods or whatever they are called or jabra. Jabras fatal flaw is can’t be used independently, not sure about the samsung product

^ i have an android (google pixel)

refurbished? never thought about that... thanks for the suggestions. will check them all out!

^^ i suppose that's true in theory, but as with any other product, people always have preferences and some model lines just have a better reputation for whatever reason (quality, specs, ergonomics, etc), hence my question.

Are Beats only for iPhones? No, right? Just wondering why you mentioned Samsung and Jabras "if it has to be Android".

By "Powerbeats Buds" did you mean "Beats Studio Buds"? There is no model with the "Powerbeats Buds" name. I checked out the Beats Studio Buds online and I like them. Not a fan of the Powerbeats Pro with their bigger form factor.

The cheapest new Beats Studio Buds I have found so far are for $115. I can splurge that much. Is that a good price for new ones? These ones:

They all work with android, some have more functionality on iphones though. I think studio buds were made to be more android friendly from what i read.

Out of studio beats, airpod pro, and powerbeats pro, those are my least favorite. But they are ok. Hey siri not as good. Charges by usb-c(would rather it be lightning), sometimes fumble with getting them in/out of their spots in the case, stay in ear about as good as airpods, the push button on them is kind of dumb, easy to hit it when trying to push them back in ear if start to get loose. Have anc which is a plus. Battery life maybe like an hour better than airpods, but not nearly as long as PBP. I put the left side of powerbeat pro on at 10:30am central…is 9:30 central now and still not dead
