According to ESPN game tracker, Bama has a 98% chance of winning after going up 7-0.

It’s early and anything can happen, but OSU is looking like the best team in the country to me.

That loss really sucks for OU especially because it’s not really a “quality loss”. But if they win out and win the Big12, they could still make it as a 1 loss team. Same for Oregon, and Oregon’s 1 loss is to a better team.

Bama and LSU play, so one of those teams will have at least 1 loss. Same for Penn St and OSU. So the door’s still open for OU or Oregon. But they have no margin for error. You’ve also got 1 loss ND lurking out there. They don’t look like a top 4 team but if they win out they’d have a case.

Regardless, we do this every year - dream up scenarios where there’s like 7 worthy teams but it never actually comes to that. Somebody will lose again and eliminate themselves.

Seems extremely premature and might not be viewed as well by prospective coaches. Don't see how you fire a football coach halfway through year two. Jimbo bailed on them.

Eh, it was pretty obvious that they were regressing. They’ve got plenty of talent and yet still have a losing record. In the 90s yeah it’s premature, but now the big boys expect immediate results

Probably premature. But it’s FSU, it’s still a premier job. Don’t think it’ll scare off many candidates.

The biggest problem for FSU the last 2 years was having a trash OL. They can't honestly have expected Taggert to fix that OL in less than 2 years, that's just not realistic, I don't care how many 5* skill players and defensive players they have.

Cuse is having the same problem this year. When your OL sucks, your offense is going to struggle, it's a big part of why NC State has struggled the last several games, our OL is beat up and young.

I'm living vicariously through Minnesota and Baylor fans this season as they seem have the type of programs I see NC State having and think we could do what they are doing when the stars happen to align.

Bama will probably drop one spot in the polls and still get in the CFP, despite not even winning their division.

I think the committee will be less likely to try to cram a non-SEC-West-champ Alabama into the playoff now that Tua is done for the year.

Lots of undefeated teams went down the last 2 (ish) weeks.

Baylor, Minnesota, Alabama, Penn State. App (thank God)

ohio state probably has the toughest schedule remaining - Penn State then @UM. and then the B1G title game. but they look so dominant, i don't see them losing any of those.

How did Auburn get a clock stop and one second for a field goal at the end of the half? I thought that the clock stops only for a chain reset on first down and then it's started again immediately.

I think it went to replay or something to check the clock. But they still shouldn't have been able to get a snap off, as they have to be set for 1 second before the snap and the clock should have started on the refs ready to play whistle.

you can still be set for a second without the clock running

they snapped it as soon as the ref signaled for the clock to start

Nope, it has to be one second after the ready to play whistle (which on a running clock means 1 second has to come off the clock.)

From the NCAA rulebook:
Quote :
"The offensive team never coming to a one-second stop prior to the
snap after the ball is ready for play (A.R. 7-1-2-IV). This is an illegal
shift that converts to a false start."

There always has to be at least 1 second from the time the ball is ready to play until the snap. Refs fucked up.

OSU is in regardless imo.

The real question would probably be does Wiscy jump OU in this scenario? And they probably don’t, but I’m guessing OU and Wiscy would be the 4 and 5. And OSU 3.

Nah, if they get handily beat they're not getting in. At best they'd be the 4
