Time for my yearly "who should my keepers be?" post. 3 keepers, no ppr, no round restrictions or anything.

OBJ
Adam Thielen
Alshon Jeffery
Josh Gordon
Jarvis Landry
Mike Williams?
Alex Smith?

Unfortunately my best rb was Mark Ingram and he's suspended 4 weeks, and the rest probably aren't worth keeping (Mariota, Blount, shitty TEs, etc)

Whats everyone using as strategy this year?

Obviously tww league drastically doesn't match up with normal FF so...

_____

I'm seriously considering drafting RB the first four/five rounds. Waiting on WR and QB.

^Same as most years.

Load up on RB early, but don't reach if a top flight WR is available.
Wait a while on QB and TE.
DEF in 2nd to last round.
K in last round.

Good move there waiting on a QB, just be warned that on road games he sucks.

and yes, stay away from Josh Gordon, if you can pick him up and stash on IR

0.5 PPR. i'm picking 9 (in a 10 team league, so then i'll pick 11 as well). obviously brown won't be around, and based on rankings and ADP, Hopkins seems like the #2 WR so he may be available. it'll depend on how other things shake out, but i'm guessing at 9 and 11 i'll be taking a RB and WR in no particular order. so i was trying to get a grasp on the WRs there...i wouldn't be disappointed with any of ODB, Julio, or Hopkins...didnt know if y'all had any input there.

trade offer sent to me this morning:

give up Edelman for Jordan Reed and Will Fuller
or
give up Keenan Allen for Jordan Reed and Allen Robinson

thoughts?

I have Gronk and OJ Howard for TEs.

I'm intrigued with Will Fuller having Watson throwing the ball again, since they connected for 7 touchdowns in the 4 games they played together last year. He's fast enough to stretch the field and make homerun plays. Getting him in a trade for Edelman who is guaranteed to miss 4 weeks may be worth the gamble. You don't need another Tight End on your team though, especially one that's injury plagued and couldn't run a month ago. can you counter back for another WR or RB instead of Reed?

Help with some keepers, can keep up to 3, and following number is the round I'd keep them/pick they would count for. I'm picking 10th.

Hopkins - 1st Rd Pick
McKinnon - 10th Rd Pick
Peyton Barber - 10th Rd Pick
Derrick Henry - 2nd Rd Pick
Wentz - 10th Rd Pick
Watson - 10th Rd Pick

The ones that are 10th rd picks are Free Agents from the year before so they count as the 10th Rd Pick. If I keep those players they move up a round, so if I keep Wentz and Watson, they would be my 9th and 10th picks.

I'm leaning toward Wentz, Watson, and McKinnon. But Hopkins as my 1st pick is decent value as I probably won't find much better in the first round at the 10th pick, and even Henry has potential in the 2nd round but he is someone who could be there still and not have to waste a keep on him. It is tough because there are some strong players that others will be keeping not in the mix like Kareem Hunt and the Saints RB etc.

i'm guessing in a keeper league, you won't do better than hopkins at #10. and you might actually do much worse depending on who else is being kept and who is available.

The Hopkins / Watson combo could be deadly this year if Watson comes back strong. Wentz and Watson were both great for me last year but apparently if I draft you that means your ACL will cease to exist.

You're putting a lot of faith in Desaun Watson not showing year 2 regression by keeping both him and Hopkins, especially considering Watson is coming off an ACL tear. I'd rather throw him back and get the best RB available, assuming the other teams aren't stacked with keepers. You should pencil off the projected keepers in your league and see what would be available at pick 10. A healthy Will Fuller will likely reduce to focus on Hopkins this year; Will Fuller was the 2nd WR taken in the first round of the 2016 draft, and year 3 is usually when you start to see dominant wide receivers have their breakout year. Fuller showed flashes of that last year.

is it a PPR league? If so, I don't think I'd be keeping Derrick Henry in the 2nd with Dion Lewis likely stealing 3rd down work from him. Especially if you're in a 10 or 12 team league and are drafting position #11 or #15 overall at that spot.

I think I would be keeping McKinnon and Watson and redrafting everything else. If Watson regresses, you didn't burn a lot on him. You also may be able to trade him immediately for a WR or RB upgrade. Nothing else really screams value unless the top talent is being ransacked by keepers.

Oh we back! Help me help you!

Pick one WR (.5ppr): Sterling Sheperd vs Jax, Sammy Watkins @ LAC, Tyrell William's vs KC

Pick two WR (non ppr): Will Fuller @ NE, Emmanuel Sanders vs Seattle, Josh Gordon vs Pitt, Sterling Sheperd vs Jax

Sheperd will have Buoye on him, so that's a no for him. Gordon is also getting worked back in after missing the entire preseason, so I doubt he's a high volume guy week 1.

Watkins.

Sanders, Fuller.

Question: I picked up James Conner as a free agent when Bell said he'd be out for awhile.

Do I play him week 1 vs Cleveland over a WR projected to pick up 13 ish points this week?

^PPR?

Think Conner catches plenty of passes and he has solid upside. Guess it depends on who the WRs are, but Conner is regularly being listed as a top 25 play(RB and WR combined) in PPR this week. Just think about how good DeA looked with the same scheme and pieces around, and the OL seems healthy and ready to roll. Think they make Conner a focal point just because of all of the Bell stuff going on, almost a "we don't need you" stance.

I'd role with Williams. The other two are in offenses where it may be difficult to predict targets with all the options on the team.

I always leave the kicker spot empty until opening day to roster an extra lottery pick. Who should I drop?

Randall Cobb
Allen Hurns
Tyler Lockett

5^: Tried to tell you that Conner was going to get a lot of touches.

^: Cook got a lot of touche last night because Carr was trying to avoid Talib and Peters, they even said as much after the game. Said they thought their best gameplan would be to avoid their really good CBs and target their LB and S with the TE. I wouldn't bank on Cook getting that many looks every game but he has enough talent to flash here and there(he's always had 2-3 big games each season).

^^Kittle.

Cam Newton or Ben Roethlisberger this week? My opponent has Antonio Brown, so if I play Roethlisberger I can get points when he gets points. But I don't want to sit on Cam if he might have a big week as well.

/^^Dissly and Vannett both saw about the same amount of snaps.

Dissly is ok, but not the long term TE solution. He might see 5 targets

Go cook

Also, Big ben. Cam is going against a decent team and doesn't have all his normal passing options plus a patchwork O line

Luck or Watson for week 2?

If Big Ben is healthy then he is a must-start at home against a terrible secondary. Though Cam's match-up got a lot easier with Atlanta losing arguably 2 of it's top defensive players, losing Turner, Williams, and Olsen make it a lot tougher to start him.

Cook is going to be the big score guy every 4th or 5th week. That's been his career. He'll have 1-2 point weeks, then an occasional 20 point week, and at the end of the season his average will put him outside of the top 12. The Raiders essentially said their TE's and RBs got a ton of passes because they were actively trying to avoid the Rams CBs because they're really good(look at Nelson and Coopers stats, garbage for targets).

^Both Watson and Luck have solid match-ups. I'd probably roll out Luck and play the wait-and-see game on Watson, he looked pretty blah week 1.
