Junk in the drawer. Condoms that will just rot away, lube, random international coins, nic nac shit from when I was a kid that I never knew what to do with. The only things that need to be in there are nail clippers, lube and a flashlight
In the bottom cabinet its just random books I opened once, got bored and threw in there...and a fire extinguisher

LOL, I read it the same way a couple times.

My friend actually had a fleshlight-for-women idea. Her description sounded an awful lot like a dildo housed in a fake flashlight. But her dude was telling her it was stupid so I got on her team and agreed it was a brilliant idea. We made sketches. She wanted it extra floppy. Her man was confounded.

My nightstand has no drawers. On the top surface I typically have a walnut bowl that usually holds my watch and some chapstick, touch-base lamp, and glasses in their case.

On the bottom shelf is usually assorted magazines (Dwell, Architectural Digest, Architectural Record), a glass for water, and whatever books I'm reading.

Whoa, top surface is a whole nother matter.

Your walnut bowl sounds nice though. Who carved it for you?

ok, so lets redefine this as ' what is within 5 feet of your bed' , as that encompass the dresser, and bookshelves, and my closet next to the bed

4 pistols(1 in top of dresser drawer, 1 in lower drawer in dresser, 2 in closet)
~200 rounds of ammunition in magazines for said pistols
1 shotgun (used to be the 870 12 guage, now replaced by the 1100 20 guage, with 5 rounds of #4 loaded)
~200 rounds of shotgun ammo
6 flashlights
1 bullet resistant vest
random basket of stuff emptied from pockets
extra phone
random extra belts
200 feet of Velcro, in rolls
lube
condoms
4 or 5 pocketknives
wife's spare contacts
my spare glasses
spare keys

The dresser top drawers are sorta a catch all for general stuff we keep in the bedroom, and my closet is sorta like a zombie Armageddon stockpile.

well I felt left out since I don't have a drawer, so I improvised with my answer

I got the bowl from a local vendor at their tent during an art event in town. I really like carved wooden bowls, boxes, etc.

Local vendor's cooler than Pier 1, I guess.

But you should consider materializing some relatives who can carve bowls for you.

so because I don't have a small dresser next to my bed, and instead use a section of my closet, that is 6 inches from my side of the bed, as well as the top drawers of the dresser in the room instead, means that my items don't count?

and tryhard gunnut would seem to indicate that I went out and emptied the safe, or put all my guns near the bed, vs simply inventorying what was normally stored near the bed or put up in the closet. Theory being that if its not on my person, it needs to not be elsewhere where the 10 or 2 year old can easily be around stuff unsupervised.

Besides, if you pocket carry your normal EDC gun, then it tends to be small, and if you open carry around a property or when clearing brush, etc where snakes are an issue, a full sized handgun with a decent belt holster makes more sense. Keeping both handy near where I get dressed and sleep also makes sense.

Not sure where the personal attacks are coming from, feels much like boredom

and unless other folks keep a go bag of some sort in their cars, and don't keep anything in the house, not sure what better place than the master bedroom there is to keep stuff that is packed up in case you have to leave the house in a hurry, be it an impromptu range trip, or dogs going nuts at 2 am, or taking the family to a safer location when a tornado or hurricane is getting close.
