he and his wife both released a joint statement saying that the accuser has been doing shit like this since they were in college at GWU - basically she's a nutcase that's obsessed with TJ and was kicked out of their college drama club for similar behavior

OH WE BACK

and by that I mean both the show and the same formula they have used for the past few seasons. That being said, it is still hilarious.

I'm in a more 'I'll watch when I get around to it' mood with this show now. The formula just got too stale for me

This is still a must watch for me.

Formula, sure. But it's still fucking hilarious.

I enjoyed that episode as much as any other. I'm actually impressed at how continuously entertaining they can make the same path to glory -> villainy -> overcome odds -> fuck up -> repeat story.

The thing that makes it so funny despite the repeated formula is just the character quirks of the supporting cast and interactions. Like Jared randomly going on a tangent about having to choose between which family member gets to live. Random stuff like that. Although this season will probably be a little bit of a let down since we'll have no Erlich the whole time.

Yeah the best parts of the show have little to nothing to do with the actual plot of the story, and certainly nothing to do with Richard or Gavin.

Jared is gold.
Interaction between Gilfoyle and Dinesh.
Interaction between Erlich and Jian Yang.

Hell one of the best parts of the first episode is the fact that Jian Yang is trying to prove that Erlich is dead and steal his house and shares of Pied Piper haha.

I'm guessing the COO guy comes back to bite them in the ass somehow. Doesn't seem like that was the end of that.

wtf? TJ Miller arrested for calling in a false bomb threat on a train. This seems like something that he would do in the show.

Yeah I've heard of a few things he has gotten in trouble for in the past, but calling in a fake bomb threat for a train is so outlandish.

I think he likes to drink a lot.

Incidentally, his short film, "Successful Alcoholics," is really good.

Jian-Yang and Jared are far and away the best characters on this show.

His badgering of Richard about being a terrible CEO was terrific.

Jian-Yang needs his own spin-off TV show, an origin story movie, and a musical. I'm in love with him.

Kiss my piss!

I feel like the show should be over. And I'm okay with that. I think this would have been a good final season.

Jared steals almost every episode.

He's easily one of the most fascinating and hilarious characters on TV.

lololol Puddle of Mudd

I'm gonna miss this show. Despite having the exact same formula every season, it still managed to consistently bring the lulz.

Best part of the season was Jared meeting his biological parents. It was perfect.

Was hoping TJ Miller would come back for at least a cameo. I lolled at Big Head a lot, we should have gotten more of him throughout the series in general. Was hoping for a more epic ending too, but at least the show in general quit while it was ahead and never really jumped the shark.

i thought it was a really good ending, they weren't successful but not because they caused themselves to fail again

Yeah, I thought it was a very fulfilling finale. Jared of course had 2 of the best lines, about his foster mother wanting to kill him and the prolapsed anus, both had me laughing

Yeah I guess ultimately the show was a commentary on dotcom bursts and how volatile tech is. After a few days to marinate on it, it does make sense as an ending.

Actually when I think about it, I started hating Richard about two seasons ago, stopped pulling for him. Maybe was the point.

Good show.

^That reminds me. I really lolled a few episodes ago when Richard called Jin Yang and it came up on his phone as incoming call from "Bitchard". Then he called Monica and it said the same thing.

Overall, I'm happy with the last season. There were enough ups and downs and enough callbacks to previous seasons, including acknowledging their own tendency for self sabotage, to be entertaining but not forced. Arcs were generally wrapped up and we had closure with our characters.

I also really enjoyed Monica's bitchard moment as well.

Anyway I may have been super slow on the uptake here but I just now realized that Monica is who has Richard's flashdrive that he couldn't find. That was a nice subtle twist that made the ending even better once I realized it. May if it was obvious to others they didn't find it as rewarding but it was a good touch. I wondered why they made such a big deal of his drive missing. Then today I was thinking about how Monica, a former CFO, would get to work for the NSA. AI that renders encryption useless, would pretty much answer that.

Halfway through last season but easily the best season so far IMO.

Having the main characters on their own storylines has let them utilize each character’s humorous traits a lot better. I wish we had more xian Yang though.

I rewatching the show. I just read that Middleditch is/was a swinger with his soon to be ex wife, he asked for an open marriage. I then watched this episode. The "maybe" at :15 HAD to be about that right??
