Meyer can't decide what he wants to do. He needs to just leave. I think he's pretty much scared that they're gonna suck without Tebow next year.

Favre 2.0, here we go.......why would you make an announcement of that magnitude without having thought about it long and hard and made sure that you were 100% confident about it, much less be so shaky with the decision that you change your mind not 24 hours later

Brooks is doing the same thing

Quote :
" NASHVILLE - Kentucky coach Rich Brooks told his Wildcats that he’s probably not returning next season after a 21-13 loss to Clemson on Sunday night in the Music City Bowl.

Brooks said at the postgame news conference that he’s “80 percent” sure he’s not coming back. He plans to think about his next move, talk with his family and make a final decision within the week.

The 68-year-old coach finished his seventh season at Kentucky with a 7-6 record and 39-47 overall mark with the Wildcats. If it was his final game, his career coaching record in college will be 130-156-4 in 25 seasons, including 18 at Oregon.

Last January, Kentucky announced that offensive coordinator Joker Phillips will take over as head coach when Brooks steps down.

“I think it may be time for a change and time for Joker to take over,” Brooks said. “Not totally sure. I just felt like maybe it’s time.”

Brooks said he had been thinking about calling it a career over the past week, but stayed busy with preparations for the bowl game. Kentucky made school history by reaching a fourth straight bowl game, but snapped a three-game winning streak with the loss."

Exactly what I was thinking when I heard Meyer had changed his mind. I am so sick of UF.

How much truth do you think there is to

Quote :
"And another thing, Mr. Meyer: Lane Kiffin really got to you, didn’t he? It was Kiffin who sucked you into an impossible expectations game which set a terrible tone and tenor for the whole season. It was Kiffin who made you (and equally gullible/dumb Florida fans) get angry at ugly wins, which are never anything to apologize for. It was Kiffin who made you angry and testy. It was Kiffin who got under your skin. It was Kiffin who made you feel that going 12-1 wasn’t acceptable. It was Kiffin who baited you into sinking to a lower common denominator (much as Rick Neuheisel sucked Pete Carroll into doing the same thing). And it was Kiffin who – while having accomplished precious little at this point in his coaching career – made you act and feel like the smaller guy in the room, even when you had the big-boy results to show for your labors. "

sounds like 100% bullshit to me.

this Tennessee/Florida shit reminds me a lot of whinny NCSU fans talking shit about UNC trying to convince themselves that they are relevant.

^What? You don't think Roy Williams spends countless sleepless nights worrying about Sidney Lowe?

Who ever wrote that is an idiot. I don't think Meyer with his 2 national championship trophies is worried about a 1st year coach at a woman's basketball school.

This is stupid. Lane Kiffin is an unproven coach. He hasn't done much as a head coach to have anyone fearing him. The only reason they were half way decent this year was because of Monte Kiffin is an amazing d-cord and can slow down just about any offense. Other then that they were nothing special.

Rich Brooks is almost 70 and is no Paterno or Bowden. Good god give the man a break for wanting to retire. He isn't afraid of fucking Kiffin. Not to mention they have had a coach in waiting there for the last two or three years. He is being loyal and giving the guy a chance at the same time. If you think Kiffin is striking fear in the SEC you are wrong.

I said it reminds me of NCSU fans. I didn't mention Tennessee fans.

it can = anything you want. Tennessee media, fans, students, faculty, homers, etc.

but you were implying it was something that just "Tennessee based" people were doing, and my point is it is unrelated, impartial people saying it

Links? Only articles I see don't seem like he was caught in any lies or anything...just that his wife knew something that she was supposed to report as an Ohio State employee or something.

sexual assault that he apparently knew about in 2015 but recently denied knowing about. if there was a sexual assault by somebody on staff, that's not getting a head coach fired. lying about it and trying to cover it up? that's where shit gets bad.

Fuck Urban Meyer.

I'm tired, I'm leaving UF, I need some family time

/accepts job at ESPN

...job opens up at OSU

/accepts job at OSU I'm so happy to coach again. This is my dream job!

Really I think my hatred toward him stems from my hatred toward all things OSU.

As the token OSU fan (though I'm growing a bit less enamored with the program over the past few years), this is a horrible look for Urban and the program in general.

I think that if he covered things up, then he deserves punishment without a doubt, but this is seeming more and more like another case of the mob mentality where the court of public opinion will settle for nothing less than blood

You could tell Meyer didn't care.

He was reading from a statement, no remorse or emotion. Denied it all and pinned it on his staff for the most part.

Too much money involved for them to terminate him I think.

Rare to agree with JT3, but it's def the money. None of the decision makers give a shit about the winning if it doesn't come with money.

I think it's the lost money that has a lot to do with it, not the money they're currently making. They probably can't fire for just cause and Urban would sue to get every dime in his contract. I bet that's more of the determining factor than the money the football program makes. They know they could plug and play and get practically any coach they want.

Yeah, Urban Meyer is probably a top 3 coach in college football. It's clearly Saban #1, then probably Dabo & Meyer IMO.
