^^ yes they are cute cars. They are new too, but there is a Fiat 500 Dealership out in Cary Auto Mall next to the Dodge and Chevy Dealership. Not really exotic, unless it was an oldschool Fiat 500...

I can't believe someone mentioned a 500 in the exotic car thread. Plz to turn in your man card, thx.

The Fiat 500, much like a Smart car, is really only worth having in a tight urban environment. Nevermind it's inferior to the Mini in almost every objective category.

How so. From the reports I read about 5 months ago, the Fiat has higher quality parts. For example, the control arms are iron rather than stamped steel. I think it's those minor details that make the Fiat 500 stand out from other "economy" cars.

why would you want an IRON anything on a car these days? you could argue an iron block, but that's just $poor engineering in this day

Or maybe I don't pay attention to a posted comment by a random user that's rarely seen in The Garage...

^^^^Mini's fit and finish is pretty high so I'm curious how Fiat compares. As far as handling, performance and gas mileage go, the MINI wins across the board.

I suppose the Fiat's good for people that can't stand the MINI's retardedass centrally mounted speedometer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but ductile iron is stronger than stamped steel while not increasing cost of production significantly. The Fiat's target are Toyota Yaris and other equivalent compact econo-car consumers. Yes there are other materials available, but perhaps using them would mean raising the cost of producing a 500 to higher levels than necessary.

Here's one of the old articles I had read:

^^ "ductile iron" is just cast iron. it's cheap and a base for steel. steel is basically lighter iron - not the element, but the metal you can actually buy, due to higher carbon content with virtually no strength sacrifice. in most cases you can use less steel to bear the same load as more iron. depending on silicone levels one might have shear strength than the other, but this is a car is meant for a city, not offroading.

buddy of mine owns an exotic car rental place in Florida and he's testing it up here this weekend to see how well he could market it in the triangle. He's bringing up a Murcielago, Ferrari California and a Vanquish. He's gonna let me whip one of them around for a while since it's my birthday today. Think I'm gonna drive the Ferrari.

it's $140 an hour if anyone wants in on it btw

^Yeah no shit. No brainer for the Murcie. I'd rather test drive a Corvette ZR1 or Viper over a California.

THAT is impressive. I think only around 100 are being brought to the US, out of a production run of 300 (worldwide).

"Released in May 2010 the £142,585 R8 GT is the fastest Audi to date. The curb weight has been reduced by 100 kg (220 lb) to 1,525 kg (3,362 lb). The power from the V10 FSI has also been increased to 560 PS (412 kW; 552 bhp) which gives the car 367 PS (270 kW; 362 bhp) per ton. Because of these changes the R8 GT has a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h) and goes from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, 0.3 faster than the R8 V10. The car also features some visual changes including red brake caliper covers, a fixed rear wing, front bumper mounted winglets and GT badges replacing the V10 ones. Only 333 Audi R8 GTs will be made and 33 will be sent to the UK, while 90 will be sent to the US."

I was on 77 the other day...I was passed by a black Tahoe, then a Maybach, then a blacked-out Lincoln Town Car, then a Bentley, followed up by a final black Tahoe

I couldn't help but wonder
