i probably haven't gone for a 1RM in a couple of years. My right shoulder is pretty messed up and causes me enough problems without subjecting it to that kind of abuse. I would guess 300 lbs or very close to it. I know I can do 275, but that's the most I've actually done in a good while.back in the day (college and shortly thereafter), I could get 350 on a good day. Work schedule, increasing age, and painful shoulders, elbows, and occassionally a wrist put the brakes on that kind of training, though.[Edited on January 20, 2008 at 2:18 AM. i work a lot of dumbells and [cough]machines[/cough] these days...seems to irritate my shoulder less.I wonder if surgery could fix it...I don't know when I'd actually get it done without interfering with my training and deployments. I also don't want to go to the flight docs, because I know they'll just tell me to stop lifting weights and doing other stuff that fucks it up, which I'm not going to do.

a lotjk, thats my little brother lol... he's well into the 300's on bench but both of us have a lot of shoulder pain when we try to bench--that's one reason i never had much luck with it. my joints would be hurting long before my muscles really were. free weights are the only thing that don't hurt so we do them usually instead and he does 125lb dumbbells, shit's crazy
