not really. if tg is committed to us, we already have enough guards next year. it'll be much better for our spacing if he comes in in 2013 and has 4 years of eligibility. we need a big man this year!

Is Jefferson really a "big man" though? He's tall and listed as a PF, but from his videos he plays more like a wing. Basically a less athletic but more skilled CJ Leslie.

While it would nice if we got a big man this year, we don't necessarily need one.

We do need several big men next year. And if we don't get a good one this year, then it just puts more pressure on us to strike big in the big man category next year.

Remember...we're only losing a sg/sf in CJ Williams this year. We bring back Howell/Painter/JDV/TDT/Leslie(hopefully).

But after that, we lose Howell, Painter, and probably Leslie if he's stayed that far. That's why '13 class is our cut off date for getting some good big men.

oh yeah, it'd just be nice to get one this class so they have a chance to get some experience before being completely relied on in 2013 when howell, painter, and leslie are gone. if we don't get one this year, we'll basically need a complete stud to come in in 2013 and be a huge contributor from day 1.

That's what I was thinking too. 2013 all we've got currently is de Thaey and Harris...but perhaps one or both improves significantly next year

You forgot Vandy and Warren

The reality is that by 2013, we will have 3 very good guards in Lewis, Purvis and Brown. We want to get all 3 of those guys on the floor together. Pairing them up with Warren and a rebounding / shot-blocking monster would be ideal. Maybe it all clicks for Vandy in his senior year.

Yep, which i have to imagine is the reason that Vandy is being red-shirted this year (well, that and the fact that he could use it). But i don't know if harris, and possibly warren will ever be legitimate big men post players.

I've got faith that Tyler Harris will contribute if not start at some point in his career at State. TDT has shown me absolutely nothing other than a lack of coordination.

eh, you can't really judge how well that guy will perform in college in his soph-senior years based on one high school video. but he'd definitely be a project. at least he can run and is half-way coordinated. and very tall.
