I got the following email in response to some [old] tunes I made years ago, and well, read for yourself.

Quote :
"Dear 'Ben Drew His Name',
I was browsing around Soundclick and found you. The International Talent
Award Contest for rock bands seems to be perfect for music like yours! The
rules are simple. If your song is selected as a worthy recipient by our
judges, you win 2000 US dollars.

The Talent Award Contest is an invitation-only competition, where you only
get to compete if you're personally selected! I can give out such
invitations, and the music on your page leaves me in no doubt that you are
worthy. I dig the vibe of "Rainy Days", and "Riffing Well" is amazing.

Don't worry about trying to get the perfect 'professional' sound to your
entries - we listen to the SONG, not the recording. I wish I had time to
listen to more of your stuff. I really think you should enter the Talent
Award Contest based on the material I've already heard!

Your invite code is **************** which you can use to enter the site
at http://www.talentaward.net. There is a small submission fee of 19 US dollars
per song you enter. (Regular fee 39 US dollars) You may enter as many songs
as you please. Full details on the website.

I hope to hear your stuff on the panel!

If you have any questions, you are welcome to send us an e-mail at this
address, of course.

many kind regards
William Taylor, judge, Talentaward.net

---PLEASE NOTE:
This is _NOT_ a mass mailing. It is a personal e-mail written by a judge
looking around the internet for the most interesting songwriters.
The deadline for buying Entry Tickets is 7 days from today. However, after
you buy a ticket, you have 30 days to submit an mp3. Full details on the
webpage."

the code works on the site, btw - no additional info of consequence can be obtained by tying it in.

Is The A Scam?

the only thing really bugging me here is that the band page doesn't have any links to itself, it's music, contact info, etc.
