my thumb is hurting like hell. i think i have an ingrown nail. it hurts to touch. how do i fix this? tried soaking my thumb in hot water last night. didn't help. tried digging in with a needle dipped in alcohol and that didn't help either.

it was. or at least i think. i mean my lymphs are feeling alot better now. but i got this nail infection. i know there's tons of pus under there, but i don't want to injure myself.

I had a ingrown something on my big toe a while back that was infected and had pus. My doctor gave me antibiotic (not an option unless you go see the doctor), but he also told me to:
1. Soak the finger in hot water with epson salt.
2. Soak gauzes in same solution.
3. Wrap finger with wet gauzes.
4. Wrap finger with wet gauzes around it with saran wrap.
5. Keep it like that over night.

When you pull the gauzes off, if it is working, there will be green/yellow pus on the gauzes.

i used nail clippers and cut my thumb and toe nail into submission whenever they gave me trouble when i was younger
