i love secu

but they put a hold on my STUDENT LOAN CHECK from a MAJOR BANK and a MAJOR LENDER

it was supposed to be released on the 11th... "oh no, sry, we made a mistake, it will be released on the 15th"

well today is the 15th, i call about it and she says "oh yeah it will be released tonight, should be available tomorrow."

....

BITCH I GOT BILLS TO PAY

i could understand if it were like a personal check or from some off the wall bank
but a student loan check that is cosigned by the university? i mean come ON.

grrrrrrrr.

my response:

Quote :
"There's no way I can get to the funds today?

My understanding was that the hold would be lifted today and the funds would be available today. The form mailed to me stated so, and mentioned nothing about the funds being available the next business day. If I would have known depositing this check would have been this much of a hassle, I would have worked something else out.

It's ridiculous enough that you guys held these funds in the first place - it's a student loan check from a major bank/lender and was cosigned by the university. Tuition is due today, and I need to pay it. I understand that there is some risk involved by accepting this check, but there is only a very minute chance that it would not clear.

The Credit Union has been excellent to me up until this point, and I really hate to see that change.

(no tuition is not due today, but i figured i'd work in the semi-guilt factor)

I get paid very sporadically and I get so tired of every time I take a commission check in they have to go back through my account history to see the last one. I guess we can thank all the money order scammers for this.

I finally work somewhere that has direct deposit.

Dude, I dropped nearly four G's in my account like it was nothing. Before this my account had less than 300 in it. But my check was from the University itself.

I wish SECU was faster at posting each charge online. Otherwise, I'm pretty pleased with them. But I've never had a situation like yours, Evan.

Even when I got checks from the university, they never, ever placed a hold on them: paychecks OR fin aid disbursements. Who is the check from?

I wouldn't have even bothered with an email. First thing I'd have done in the AM is check my acct, and then get on the phone right then and there. But I'm a tad on the jewish side

^yeah...I haven't used my card since Friday. Still has $77.00 pending...$60.xx is Kroger, and I forget the rest. They're SO DAMN SLOW.

On another note they are in my good graces today. I accidentally transferred all my money out of my checking account to my SECU visa (which takes 48 hours to post) when I meant to move it to the other checking account. .

I called to see about getting them to reverse it so I could get to the money without waiting, and they just raised my credit line for the difference and told me I could go get it out of the ATM.

Thats customer service.
