It's funny but oh so wrong.

A freshman Jewish college student wants to panic her religious and protective parents having her favorite radio station DJ call her father acting as an Italian student interested in arranging a date with her. She literally plays them on for that long until the parents are hysterical, with the DJ on the other line contributing random insults.

It was funny to me because of the parents' reaction (which reminds me a lot of my own), not funny because when I was dating a Jewish fella, its reminds me of how his parents were so intense about my being non-Jewish. His mother literally hollered at him (audible over his phone) if I was Jewish or not, and if I was willing to convert. Later on when they invited me to a "ball" at the synagogue, I had to literally haul Jeff's ass to the place and dance with him to show his parents I wasn't anti-semitic or anything. Of course, the kid was hell-bent on pissing off his parents and because he recognized their religiosity at an early age, spent his entire teenage life actively denouncing Judaism.

Yeah, he got dumped pretty quickly.

the only prank call to a tv show I've ever been involved in was Dec 31, 1999. My bf at the time, (who was and still is a daytrader) was watching whatever CNBC show was on during the lunch hour I called in and said I had some question about 'Y2K and my money' or something like that. So they put me on hold, and when they were live, my bf took the phone said something like, 'So with all that's going on with Y2K ....etc...etc..etc.... do you think that I should be concerned that I'll end up losing my money and 'living in a van, down by the river' (that last part was said like Chris did)
