Yeah for real. Why get mad that the SEC dominates football recruiting considering the teams that are in the SEC. That is like a fan from Georgia getting mad that the ACC or Big East is dominating in basketball recruiting. If I was a stud high school player, I'd want to play football in the SEC too.

Peter King has become a big fan of Rivers over the past couple years. This was from MMQB:

Quote :
"MVP Watch

1. Peyton Manning, QB, Indianapolis. Manning was pedestrian Sunday, but he probably can't sit enough to lose his fourth MVP to Rivers.

2. Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego. In the Chargers' 10-game winning streak, Rivers has 20 TDs, six picks, six games with a rating over 100 and zero games with a completion percentage under 60. There's no denying it now -- Rivers is playing the best football of any quarterback drafted in the past six years.

Rivers will get at least a handful of votes for the MVP. Even better, he is getting real credit from the analysts for being one of the toughest, most clutch QB's in the game. A few years after he was labeled as a "whiny punk", now he's seen as the heart and soul of one of the best teams in the league.

Of course he will.

It'll be him, Brady and Manning as the AFC QB's.

Just watch tomorrow.

I just noticed in Madden that P.Riv is ranked behind Tony Romo, Ben Roeth, Matt Hasselbeck, and ELI MANNING. What a joke. I suppose the nerds creating the game failed to utilize actual NFL stats and instead relied on ESPN fan polls, who got the most pro bowl votes, super bowl wins, and $$$ in their contract.

LOL! I think it is required to be a manning or be on one of the media dick sucking teams like Dallas, NY, Steelers, or the Pats.

Man, I felt like this was an NC state game, watching Rivers not be able to find a way to win since 2000.

maybe if we had been watching Cotchery more carefully the Jets would've pulled NC State shit

Nice choke, Phil.

Also maybe if the Chargers didn't have a kicker who collapses under pressure like a goddamn paper bag.

While Kaeding was complete and absolute garbage yesteday, it was Phil's inexplicable INT that gave the Jets their first TD and lead. Without that play, the Jets probably never take the lead in that game. Really dissappointed in the Chargers again. WTF man?

Rivers had his share of the blame, but it's not like LT or Kaeding did their part either and they are crucial as well

and if Norv didn't go for the onside kick who knows how it plays out

plenty of blame to go around for this one.

Kaeding going 0-3 (ok the 57 yarder shouldn't count against him)
Rivers' one terrible throw that was as good as a pick6
a complete lack of running game
stupid penalties
Norv Turner
several dropped passes that should have been caught.

Why the fuck did they not give Sproles more carries? He should have at least been splitting each series with LT. Chargers got Norvowned again.

I didn't go to school when he did, so no ties to him there

and based purely on his NFL career, you can surely see why someone impartial might find him somewhat of a prick
