My stuff came in Friday when I got home from the hospital.

I've only gone thru the box to look at it in person, but have't tried on anything yet. I'll prob return one fo the button up blouses because I don't think there's room for my tittyballs its so darn cute too.

MAYBE I'll try it on tomorrow.....is it bad that I got more excited about my laundry hamper/sorter that came in than I did about the clothes? I'm so old

So I'm torn on what to do with wedding shoes. (I figured this is better suited for the ladies thread)

I have been searching and searching for the perfect green shoes....

and then I saw these

I don't know what to doooo because I love these so, so much but they don't come in green. >.< now I'm trying to decide if I should get them anyway or keep searching

Where is the best place to get a (not too expensive) formal gown for a military ball? I'm going to be down in NC in a few weeks and will be able to shop anywhere between Raleigh and Charlotte.

I got my last dress at Cache but I don't like anything in their current selection except for a dress that looks almost the same as my last one...

Well it's prom season so you shouldn't have a problem finding a huge assortment of formal gowns in the stores these days....you just may find lots of hot pink and crap like that

Don't rule out places like David's Bridal either...They always have some pretty bridesmaids gowns that don't scream MY FRIEND MADE ME PURCHASE THIS FOR HER WEDDING SO I NEED TO GET A FEW MORE WEARS OUT OF IT

Department stores are good places to look, and most won't be too expensive.

Also, consignment stores (one is Apex is holding a prom special this week).

Friend's closets--because I know I've kept all my high school dresses, *just in case*

Check out the clearance to places like White House Black Market (I got my bridesmaids dresses there for cheap).

+1 to consignment. Or even Goodwill. I've found two formal gowns there for like $7. I know a lot of people are haters on that, but if I find a cute formal gown I know has been worn once, why not?

I love your previous ball gown btw. I am going to be my cousin's maid of honor this summer and she's looking at dresses that look similar to that. Which means that is what I'll probably be wearing to the Marine ball this winter.

Ooh, I love some me some Goodwill and Consignment stores. What's the name of the consignment store in Apex? There's also one in Cameron Village that I'm going to try.

I'm staying away from anything too prom-esque.

Went to Mitchell's academy and was not pleased this time. Receptionist didn't tell me they were closing an hour after I got there, so I made a student and instructor stay late and still hate my hair. I wish she would have told me so I could have came back on a different day. Now I don't want to go back there. Not the student or instructor's fault, I didn't want to make them stay even later to fix it. It reminds me of the haircuts I got as a kid and makes me want to cry.

If I call do you think they'll give me the contact info for the student I liked that graduated? I am seriously considering shaving my head I hate this haircut bullshit so much.

Lol okay.

Well who are you buying the gift for? Girlfriend, fiancé, wife, sister, mother, boyfriend, friend, side piece? How much do you want to spend?

Do they have any hobbies or things they like to collect? Tell us a little bit about the person.

Um okay I dont know half the things you just described and I'm pretty girly so I guess I am out of touch with what's popular

Does she have any Chanel perfume? They make a nice perfume. Or Lilly. I'm sure Lilly sells a perfume. There's a store in Cameron Village who sells Lilly - Palm Avenue. You could check that place out. Or check out Charlotte's. They have a store in Cameron Village but I believe they also have one in triangle town center. They sell a lot of cute girly stuff including monogrammed stuff. I always find a billion things in there and the girls that work there are really helpful. I'm sure they could point you in the right direction

^that cut seems a bit advanced to be going to a hair school & expecting good results

Normally haircuts don't take an hour so I'm not surprised the receptionist didn't tell you when they were closing however, the instructor should have known that cut was too advanced for the time the student had & told you as much

Sorry your haircut sucks, but hair grows so pin it back & do what you can until you can work with it

I wanted something more basic than that. like this: http://www.prohaircut.com/short-hair-cuts-victoria.html The student I went to before did great with it.

I've had good cuts at the school before, and even a professional at a salon takes an hour to cut my hair so you can't expect a student to get it done in less than an hour and a half. I have painfully straight hair that is hard to cut. The receptionist or instructor should have seen that. I didn't realize the closing time until after they started, otherwise I wouldn't have let them begin.

Don't know what to do. The Paul Mitchell school has bad google reviews, so I'm not sure if I should go there or back to Mitchells academy.

My leg is on fire! I used the Nair Shower Power for sensitive skin. Ha! I didn't even leave it on long enough to remove all of the hair and had to break out the razor to clean up a few spots. However, this on my leg isn't razor burn because I didn't shave my whole leg. This is 100% nasty ass chemical warfare.

Vix, if I remember correctly from that pic you posted of the black sweater dress and tights (that we all thought was purple/blue) you carry your weight in your hips. That bold print sitting at your waist and hips would not be a good look for you, so maybe its a good thing its sold out.

Yeah, most of my weight is in my hips/thighs.

I think I would probably wear the dress anyways! I can't really justify spending 130 on one piece of clothing right now anyways, but it's nice to get all excited about a dress. I feel like I just see the same ones over and over again everywhere, cool to see something unique (and pretty!)

you'd spend money on a dress that isn't flattering on you just because its pretty and unique?

I'd probably take it back if it was truly unflattering. It's hard to tell exactly how flattering something is unless you try it on.

I would pay more for haircuts, but I HATE it when I spend $40+ and get the same shitty results. They are always afraid to cut enough off and it really pisses me off. I always tell them that I will never complain about it being too short, and they don't fucking listen. Delonda was the first person ever that cut it short enough. I have seriously considered taking scissors to my hair before getting a cut to make absolutely sure they have to make it short enough.

^you need to go see Patrick at intaglio designs off 54 between durham & chapel hill. its only 15 mins from the west side of raleigh and he's worth it. he always gives my friend short cuts that, i swear to god, make her 2x as attractive. I dunno how a boyish cut can make her go from looking like a former marine to so girly and cute, but he's gone through several styles with her that just took my breath away. he does goldwell color too, which i find to be especially gentle.

urban decay sale going on right now. http://www.urbandecay.com/sale/sale,default,sc.html

I bought two primer potions (original) for $18 (discounted presumably because it's the old (/"vintage") packaging). I have used too-faced shadow insurance for the last year or so but UD primer potion is in the running for the creme de la creme of shadow primers.

I also recommend their 24/7 liners. and the "book of shadows" pallette is $35 off.
