You could, but only if you have an Intel CPU. There is some bug in the 3.24 client that defaults to 3DNow optimization instead of SSE optimizations for AMD chips. 3.25 Beta is basically a fix of that bug.

The Georgia Tech All-Stars look to be weakening!

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_overview.php?TeamID=10971
If we keep it up we will be #1 in the ACC sooner than we thought!

Hopefully we aren't falling, I guess in a day or so we will see how many new people we have on board. Hopefully we can get our curve in the upward direction...

well, I tried to run the client and gui the first two times. that was my fault. the next was lost during a blue screen of death. then my k6-400 didn't make the deadline. i think i have fixed all of my problems... should be posting here by midnight or not...

Hopefully with the added TWW awareness we can make the trendline point a little more north. Right now is seems to be sloping slightly south and I don't want to see us do a "GA Tech".

I thought you were going to say the big spike was due to you. The above images will be there once the stats server updates, so the images will always be up to date.

All i do is 2500's, my computer does two and a half of those in one day. And apparently we have a new member whose and idiot and mispelled the name of our team.... SilverSurfinSmackerKrackers. He's done a massive wu and apparently joined yesterday, and has 70 pts but his name is in gray... thats strange.

Nearly all the ones I've done to this point have been 200-500 (mostly 500) which is why I was concerned. Don't really have to worry, though, once this solar flare comes and fries all our computers.

I just assumed that was one of you guys and you found another computer or toaster in your closet to fold with. The new members are always shown in gray until they return their second WU.

i have been searching folding@home's site but can't find the answers (unless the answers are no, found lots of those)

As for stoping after 1 WU, when it asks during the set up "Assume internet connection exists?" say no and then it will wait until you tell it to upload the WU. I'm quite certain a Unix version does not exist.

The console should say x out of y frames completed. You can also look at your log file in the same folder you run the console. The task manager should show FahCore......exe using all available CPU time remaining. I use EMIII to monitor my console client. There is a link on my website. Good work guys and gals. Keep it up!

If you pass the -pause flag to the command line version, it should stop after one work unit.

Additionnaly, on the stats page on folding.stanford.edu there is one client listed in the "other" category, and I assume that is some Unix flavor. If you contact them, maybe they will let you compile it from source on some Unix flavor. I believe I also remembered some Solaris version being out there, and that linux variants would work on most Unix type platforms. There are two linux clients though, the A version (for old glibc libraries) and the B version for newer glibc libraries, so I assume you would have to figure out what version of glibc you run.

Thanks on the pause flag. I can't seem to find the "other" category, you mind passing some type of link my way for that. BTW you will pass me today...

The FahCore*.exe should be in the processes section of the task manager. It looks like you are doing fine as you have returned one WU already.

My understanding is that compiling the program is not a problem it is compling the various cores that is the problem. In addition to offering Q&A support for them. You can look around the F@H forum at:

Sometime it can take a few days for Stanford to record your first WU.

One way to take the down the Georgia Tech All-Stars is to convince their members to join us. Apparently Leslie is returning WU for both teams.

I guess it is also possible it is a coincidence and more than one person have the same username.

RedGuard You joined the team a long time ago right? Nice to have you back.

I think at our current rate as long as no one slacks off we will make the top 100 by Christmas. It will be close though. FYI version 4.0 is out for beta testing. I've tried it on one of my machines and it seems to work alright. So far this is no speed improvement that I am aware of, so at this point I'm going to stick to v3.25. If there are any Linux users out there, there are some major compatibility improvements I hear.

another bttt...

it looks like we might take a downward slope here soon.

just some observations... as a team it looks like we might be strolling along through some teams as were are currently at 115. http://www.thetek.com has reported WU #3. hopefully I can stay green this time as well.

Welcome to our newest member: Will_Yeago!
We also hit 200,000 points as a team quite quickly. As far as our ramping trend line goes, as long as it is level or going up, we are in good shape. If everyone was producing at their max, the line would be flat. I too hope thetek gets started soon.
