You don't need guns and shit to hijack planes so security can't be that great. If there were more than 5 people in each group on each plane, it would not be hard to overpower a pilot and co-pilot.

in my years of responding to terrorism training (in prep for the worlds special olympic games which was a top terrorist target) they always stressed the secondary device... and now today.. there was not only one plane.. but then as all the emergency service workers arrived another *secondary device* plane hit.. this is tragic

on nbc they talked to a terrorsim expert who said that since the attacks were indeed suicide bombings (the hijackers were on the planes when they crashed), suspicion falls mostly on Middle East terrorist groups. He mentioned that of these groups, only a very small number of them are capable of pulling something like this off. Bin Laden and his terrorist group al-Qaida are definitely extremely suspect, considering the sophistication of their group. I even found this article from back in June about how they supposedly use the Web to coordinate their attacks:
