good shit.

Didn't see don't that article but apparently he is moving up a class and will be on the team this season. Won't expect too much from 75-100 rank player who should be in HS but maybe he'll turn out!
7/24/2024 4:41:43 PM
So I think that’s all 13 scholarships now?I don’t know how good any of them are, but we have lots of options at the 2/3 positions.
7/24/2024 4:55:23 PM
^^yep, apparently announced he was moving up a class and then announced he was committing to State^yes, that was the last schlolarship

Good news! An Acc championship and final four run seems to have helped with recruiting and transfers lately.

^ I'm gonna guess yes if we land any of the coaching targets currently being publicized. Don't really know any inside info or anything. But I figure there's a good chance most of the rumored candidates are already familiar to him. He had an offer from Tenn, so Gainey probably has him on speed dial. Mike White offered him too. And since Keatts wasn't a big man's kind of coach, I'm guessing some of the ones we were landing in recent years were as much about the money as they were about buying into Keatts' system. Also, our roster has (checks notes) absolutely zero fucking centers on it somehow. So, yeah, I like the odds.

Now that Wade is on board, we need the ballerz to start coming in. I will be patiently waiting.

N&O has an article out claiming we have $6-8mil of NIL funding (in addition to revenue sharing they say). I'm super curious how they are getting their numbers though. They also claim Keatts only had $2mil in NIL. I find it hard to believe Keatts had that much less to work with, but if true it seems like some of that has to be on him and not drumming up excitement with the deep pocketed boosters.https://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/nc-state/article303138139.html
4/3/2025 9:58:23 PM
The $2M number Kk has been rumored and mentioned elsewhere. I was under the impression that the $6-8M number did include rev share.
4/4/2025 6:01:32 AM
The $6-8M does include rev sharing and our number this past season was closer to $2.5M according to the insiders
4/4/2025 11:30:33 AM
4/4/2025 4:36:55 PM
^^ That makes sense. A lot of people, including sports writers, seem to be comingling the revenue and NIL parts when they're citing numbers. Based on the way Wade talks, we are doing pretty good but aren't the top of the top.^ LOL, yeah, I'd be shocked if Copeland DIDN'T come here. I feel like he could work out OK for us as long as we're bringing in at least one other high level 3 point threat to compliment McNeil and offset the fact Copeland can't shoot 3s. Copeland's game reminds me a bit of what Seabron was able to do for us. And that worked out OK because we did have some long range threats for him to pass it out to.

Sorry my post was too subtle
4/4/2025 5:17:14 PM
I just saw the PackInsider article and came back in here to post.
4/4/2025 6:08:21 PM
2 for 2 on bringing in transfer guards who can't shoot 3s. Great. As an added bonus, Copeland led the Southland Conference in turnovers despite only playing 22 minutes a game.Color me unimpressed with the portal recruiting so far.
4/4/2025 10:24:29 PM
I agree it’s underwhelming. It’s early. We only have like 5 guys on the roster and that’s assuming T Parker, McNeil, and Wilkins stay. Still a lotta roster spots to fill. But if Copeland and Breed are the headliners then it’s a bummer. I don’t think that’ll be the case though. They were (probably) just easy commits to get…took less scouting and less recruiting given their ties to Wade already.
4/5/2025 7:11:05 AM
If they're replacements for the 11th/12th guys on the roster? Sure they're fine. If they're coming in to be starters/6th man? I'm not sure we're not just as bad off as last season.I will try to hold off being disappointed until we bring in some actual starting caliber players, but man if this is what a massive increase in NIL budget gets, all i can do is laugh.
4/5/2025 8:54:23 AM
Whack Will?
4/5/2025 11:27:15 AM
Guards who can’t shoot, seems like a specialty of ours sometimes.
4/5/2025 12:23:17 PM
Alyn Breed's got the shooting form to be a decent 3 point guy. He's not really in the same category as Copeland or Marcus Hill. When those guys shoot 3s you just have to cringe at their form. Seems like at Providence Breed liked to force it up a bit (both from 3 and everywhere else) and laid quite a few eggs as a result. Hopefully we're getting the version of him that lit up SDST and Alabama last year. And Copeland has already shown he's a solid ACC contributor as a sophomore. If he polishes some stuff up in the off season he could be a 3rd team/honorable mention ACC level guy next year. Not sure why we wouldn't want that.

Big time shooting guard Matthew Able commits to the pack. Between this and the McNeill news this is a good day for Pack basketball.
4/5/2025 5:05:39 PM
^^^ yes but his most recent season shooting 50% so I mean….
4/5/2025 7:58:04 PM
Yes, with a very significant sample size!
4/5/2025 8:47:02 PM
Yes i agree that 50% is a significant
4/5/2025 10:00:58 PM
Jeez Justin, you're acting like WW should of already built a total roster of All-ACC guys. I'm fine with two of his better veteran players following him here... we still have 9(15-6?) scholarships left. It's going to take some time. The tournament isn't even over.(I guess there hasn't been word on Trey Parker returning?)
4/7/2025 9:26:10 AM
Yeah I don’t think there’s any reason at all to press the panic button. Breed and Copeland would naturally be the first to commit since there’s no scouting or talent eval needed. Existing relationship with the staff, etc. I wouldn’t interpret that to mean that they will automatically be the headliners of the class. No official word on T Parker. But he’s not in the portal yet.[Edited on April 7, 2025 at 11:17 AM. Reason : H]
