I thought it was pretty good. A lot of finales are a complete let down, but this was in line with the show and a worthy finish to what I consider to be a fun series. I will say that throughout the series, Anthony Starr did SUCH a good job of portraying a narcissistic psychopath in a calm yet terrifying way.Two things kinda bugged me though <spoilers below>1) If there was a special high frequency sound that only effects supes, WHY WAS IT NEVER USED BEFORE? How many times did human Butcher encounter a supe where at the very least it would have allowed him to escape? And it couldn't have been used to ever even stun Homelander? If it was secret technology that only Vought/the government had, why would they never have used it against supes?2) What was the point of even including the GenV kids? Their sole purpose in this show was to drive a truck of survivors of Homelander's church video thing to Canada? That's it? In the GenV show, Marie Moreau was built up as someone who could potentially take on Homelander given she can control people's blood. Why even include them?

Gen V got cancelled, Vought Rising got approved. Simple as that. Focus was dropped on the Gen V kids to give Soldier Boy more time in the final season

^Okay so maybe make Marie more important when it came to taking down Homelander then? If they wanted to have some kind of send off for the GenV kids, make them more than truck drivers...

spoilers ahead...finale was underwhelming af. everyone got nerfed, especially sage. starlight took deep to the beach because *reasons*. you mean to tell me nobody got shot except kimiko in the tunnel/hallway? laser eyes all of a sudden didn't mean shit because it didn't really do damage to anybody. homie was only slightly stronger than butch this whole time? really??? as fast as a-train and not once used that speed. hughie naming his kid robin is weird af.and that's just the beginning of my gripes. I'm glad the show is over. the direction really went south once v1 was introduced. great series overall and a breath of fresh air from the marvel overdose we all went through, but good god...it tripped over the finish line. was really hoping it would have ended like the comics or at least been close to as interesting.

^How did it end in the comics?Another thing that stood out to me -- in a world where literally any psycho can end up with powers that lets them fly, teleport, walk through walls, etc. -- wouldn't the white house have some kind of branch of the secret service specifically to handle supes? Even with them getting through the secret tunnel, there would still be secret service people everywhere.Good point about the Deep. Why would Starlight take him somewhere that for as far as she knows, gives him a significant advantage? She had no way of knowing that the sea life wanted to kill him. He could have called an army of octopi out to help him if they didn't hate him. And he can still swim really really fast -- did he just forget this when he landed in the water?[Edited on May 21, 2026 at 1:52 PM. Reason : ]
