Things would be blacklisted on all the major social media, so 4chan was one place you could find full vids of incidents. I still check out of habit. the "correct" thing is that we all have a shared ideal of democracy at even a base level taught in k12 re enlightenment and john locke and thomas paine, and we make national decisions in lincoln-douglas style debates of our highly studious and motivated leaders... but this is not how society works.

we're at the point now where we need to shift the beliefs of people somewhere between too dumb and too busy to be influenced by the kinds of discussions we have on this site. So it's basically culture wars until we can restore trust in institutions

It's only emotionally impactive things that will fix the country at this point-- crying mothers, sad white women under 35 years of age, military vets being upset, attributing bad trends to republicans, etc. I would like and work hard for no one to die, but the world has never worked that way.
