Tie games often do lead to the cool end of season playoff seeding scenarios, so should add a nice wrinkle

IMO choosing to kick is the wrong choice with the current NFL OT rules. If you receive, you have the possibility of a slow, methodical drive taking nearly all the clock, or scoring. Then you trust your defense to either stop the opponent or at least limiting them to the same score as you. Then if they do score, you get the ball again. If you choose to kick, the only thing you get is knowing what you have to score. So if the opponent scores, you know you have 4 downs on the drive instead of ever choosing to punt/kick.

But anyways, wild to take the ball out of Stafford's hands on the last play, especially after Williams fumbled at the end of regulation. I think we can put the "Sean McVay: Offensive Genius" thing to rest now.

Good game, yeah, questionable play call. I'm not even mad they went for it, but going for a running play with Kyren again after he fumbled near the end of the 4th quarter

I feel like in a game where offenses are clicking kick is the right decision. Having fourth down to work with in the second possession is a big advantage for opening the playbook options. I feel like Mcvay didn’t make some crazy call by going for it on fourth down, kicking there with 2-3 minutes left feels like at least 70% to lose the game on a last second SF field goal.
