I think I'm gonna cook dinner and desert for this girl I've been seeing and her roommate.

She's kind of attached to the hip of her roommate (which isn't a bad thing...I was friends with the roomie first...she kind of like a little sister). They made plans months ago to go out together on Valentines day...but haven't said anything about it since I've been seeing the girl.

I think I'll be fine with it. Doing a decent amount for the girl the weekend before (her birthday). And we're still in that "let's not over do it" stage...so I think this is the perfect compromise. Not gonna drop a couple hundred at a ridiculous restaurant...but still doing something romantic and thoughtful while pleasing the girl and her best friend.

Oh well...we'll see. Stupid fucking holiday anyway.

It's pretty hard to fuck up cheese fondue.

Recipe:

2 bags of your favorite shredded cheese
some flour
1 bottle of dry white wine or a couple cans of beer

Heat alcohol in a pot. Put some flour in the bag of cheese and shake it up like shake n bake so the cheese is lightly coated. This keeps the cheese from clumping. Add cheese to alcohol and stir until melted. Serve with bread, apples, meat, whatever.

substituting mustard powder with a chili lime powder i have that we love
putting in all ingredients prior to adding the cheese
slowly adding cheese with whipping in between each addition until we get the consistency we want
