Quote :
"Since North Carolina State posted mostly lopsided victories en route to a 12-1 start, nothing has been too easy.

The Wolfpack may be facing a fourth straight down-to-the wire contest as they visit Miami on Wednesday night in a matchup to decide which team is second-best in the ACC standings.

After winning 12 of 13 to open the season, North Carolina State (18-4, 7-2) split its next six games. The Wolfpack have since put together a three-game win streak to grab a one-game lead over Miami (14-8, 6-3) for second place in the conference behind Duke.

None of N.C. State's recent victories have come easily. They needed two overtimes to win 94-85 at Clemson on Jan. 29, pulled out a 66-64 victory over Virginia last Wednesday and held on to beat Maryland 62-58 on Sunday.

The Wolfpack shot a season-low 30.9 percent from the field against the Terrapins, but hit 12-of-17 from 3-point range.

Senior guard Tony Bethel made two long-range jumpers and a pair of free throws down the stretch to help N.C. State coach Herb Sendek secure his 250th career victory. Bethel had five 3-pointers and led all scorers with 17 points.

"Just another hard-fought, down-to-the-buzzer ACC game," Sendek said. "What else would we expect from these two teams and this league?"

The Wolfpack notched their fourth straight conference win despite getting a total of just 17 points from their top two scorers, Cameron Bennerman (12.8 ppg) and Cedric Simmons (12.6 ppg).

N.C. State is 3-3 on the road this season. All three road losses, however, have come against ranked teams -- Iowa, North Carolina and then-No. 1 Duke on Jan. 18.

The Hurricanes also have a three-game winning streak, claiming road victories at Florida State and Georgia Tech around a home win over Wake Forest.

Guillermo Diaz, the team leader with 16.7 points per game, scored 19 points to lead five Miami players in double digits Saturday in a 70-53 win over the Yellow Jackets.

Anthony King and Anthony Harris each had 11 points for Miami. Robert Hite (16.7 ppg), who has scored one less point than Diaz this season, and Raymond Hicks each had 10.

Hite scored a combined 56 points in the previous two games. He is 15-for-26 (57.7 percent) from 3-point range during the three-game win streak, needing three more 3-pointers to become the third player in school history to make 200.

The Hurricanes are allowing an ACC-low 62.5 points per game.

Miami lost the first meeting with N.C. State this season, 81-69 on Dec. 18, but won the only other meeting in the last decade, 67-66 on Jan. 9, 2005."

heaven forbid some other channel pick up the game featuring the ACC's #2 and #3 teams playing....you know if UNC was playing Va Tech/Wake/insert other shitty team they would be primetime on espn or espn2

BC vs. Wake Forest on ESPN2 at 7:30... right......

Don't worry about #2 and #3 in the ACC, that won't draw ratings... fuckers
