It has a couple of good scenes if you're into that kind of movie, but overall the species series is pretty tame.

High Definition instantly doubles a movie's score.

There have been some recent rumblings about Warner picking a side.http://www.alleyinsider.com/2007/12/pali-sony-snes-bluray-wins-dvd-war-hollywood-loses.html
12/10/2007 4:50:23 PM
and I stopped caring the minute i bought both players
12/10/2007 5:49:35 PM
dont know if this was posted yet buthttp://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=pe_20890_7387590_fe_img_1/?ie=UTF8&docId=100017261110 free HD DVD's with the purchase of an HD DVD player. (Select HD DVD players also have an additional $100 off)

I predict that a little while after one of the formats die, dual-format players will be available for just a little more than single-format players.

Finally, B1G1 on HD-DVDs at Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/34ky6bHeres a response to the above mentioned WB to Blu-Ray exclusivity rumor: http://www.soundadviceblog.com/?p=677
12/11/2007 4:49:55 AM
well, i'm not saying it either way, but lets be honest here - WB's statement could easily construed to be just that - a denial AND "silence" about their switch to BluRay

Take it at face value. No means no.Would you really expect Warner to preempt a decision before they've seen the sales of Harry Potter quintillogy, which, btw, comes out today.[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 10:35 AM. Reason : .]

just get both formats and call it a day
12/11/2007 1:16:49 PM

12/11/2007 2:56:04 PM

12/11/2007 4:14:22 PM
define "better" because all I care about is which one has the best audio formats and best picture (both are 1080p). I don't ever use bonus stuff.
12/11/2007 4:19:01 PM
how cool would it be if they'd merge the two specs to create the ultimate HD experience?
12/11/2007 4:19:17 PM
^haha I had that exact thought. Sony teams up with Toshiba to release a 3rd format with the message saying "sorry we fucked up, but here is the REAL next gen format, plz buy the new players and PS4...kkthx oh and here is 10 free HD RAY movies for all the early adopters"[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 4:22 PM. yeah, or triple-layer HD DVD... however nobody makes any movies yet on either. BD 1.0 is good enough for me, i'd rather not have to connect my DVD player to the internets, and i don't really care for picture in picture.

ATTN: phillipIf you aren't going to use the [ link ] tags and insist on using your own anchor tags then learn to use target="_blank"kkthx
12/11/2007 7:05:38 PM
what's wrong with his link? i see no errors with it
12/11/2007 7:08:26 PM
read my post but since that alone didnt help you, that tells me you don't know wtf you are talking about. In that case, click on his link and report back with results.when you are back click onhttp://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/1186and report back with results for comparison.[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 7:11 PM. 12/11/2007 7:26:42 PM
I only middle click links... either way, even if I left clicked it, I hate new windows being spawned, so I'd say that your implementation is the flawed one[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 7:27 PM. Reason : s]
12/11/2007 7:27:21 PM
if you edit post on phillip you will see he didn't use any target specification^when you are clicking links on a site you wish to remain on for the duration of your time on the computer and you click on an external link. The correct way to link that external link is to a new window so when you are done reviewing the article you can close it and be back where you started on TWW. There really isn't any reason to have to explain this to you, kid.[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 7:29 PM. Reason : .]

12/11/2007 7:30:06 PM
i'm just voicing my support for his current link implementation so that he doesn't feel like he has to change in the face of your criticismanyway, the fact that you don't tab-browse is mega lame and negates any commentary you might have about the intarweb[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 7:32 PM. Reason : s]
12/11/2007 7:31:00 PM
dude, seriously, tab browsing has nothing to do with anchor tags. If you knew anything about html you would know that tab browsing or not an anchor tag without a target specification will always open in the same window. unless you use middle click (which track pads dont have) or right click.so to answer your question. I do use tab browsing. even my tabs have tabs.obviously you did not click on my link after clicking on Phillips link because if you did you would now see how stupid you are.[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 7:34 PM. 12/11/2007 7:33:51 PM
then stop complaining. just middle click all links like a normal goddamned person and stfu.if you can't middle click, then that is super-suck and you have no excuseand you obviously missed this tidbit:
12/11/2007 7:35:35 PM
i wonder how you managed to find your way to the internet let alone turn on a computer.track pads dont have a 3rd mouse button
12/11/2007 7:36:51 PM
my trackpad has a third damn button.quit making excuses. you have none.anyway, ctrl-click also opens links in new tabs so like I said - you're just demonstrating your ignorance and ineptitude on how to browse the web successfully, like a real manpussy[Edited on December 11, 2007 at 7:39 PM. 12/11/2007 8:12:19 PM
any guarantee that the samsung bd player above will be upgradeable to bd2.0 when it comes out? is the ability to read the discs a hardware or firmware issue? $270 with 5 free movies is a damn good deal, but i'd hate to buy something that's going to be out of date in a couple years (then again, what technology isn't, these days?)
12/11/2007 8:15:53 PM
it must be a software update if the PS3 is compatible with BD 2.0 when it comes out via update. Not sure if the samsung BD players are like the toshiba HD DVD players with ethernet for upgrades or the ability to burn the firmware update to a disc and install that way.
12/11/2007 8:40:38 PM
what's this BD 2.0 - what does it do and why is it desirable
