I predict all 4 English teams go through. City and arsenal will dominate the chaff in their group. Newcastle and United will get popped by Bayern and PSG but will make it work vs the other two.

Wow. A lot of salty Liverpool fans acting like this is the first time a bad call has been made and demanding the game be replayed (lol like that will happen). Its just the first time that it has negatively impacted them.

Liverpool fans are hilarious, there is a reason opposing fans call them LiVARpool, VAR has saved them countless times.

The FA and PGMOL are nothing but pussies for the 2 blue blood clubs. Manure and LiVARpool get whatever they want.

I am surprised they haven't been granted the replay but I am sure its coming. Paul Tiernay and now Darren England aren't allowed to referee Liverpool games what a joke.

So does this mean teams can request Referees not be assigned their matches because I would not like to see Anthony Taylor or David Coote anywhere near a Chelsea match the rest of the year. They have both cost Chelsea matches over the last few years.

I recall waiting for Liverpool several seasons and Arsenal last season to slip up near the end of the campaign before we could reach first place.

2013-14: "With two weeks to go, Liverpool looked on course to win the championship before they had a loss and a draw in two of their final three games."

2018-19: "Liverpool held a 7-point lead over Manchester City on 3 January, but finished runners-up with 97 points – the third highest total in Premier League history and the highest in English top-flight history for a second-placed team, having lost only one league match all season – to eventual champions City."

2020-21: "In the new year, Liverpool suffered from a significant slump in form. They suffered their first home defeat in 69 games with a 1–0 defeat to Burnley, which began a run of six consecutive losses at Anfield, following losses to Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester City, Everton, Chelsea and Fulham, dropping to eighth place by early March. Manchester United took the lead at the top of the table in mid-January with a 1–0 away win against Burnley, but they were in turn replaced by Manchester City at the end of the month as a 5–0 Manchester City win over West Bromwich Albion was followed by a 2–1 home defeat for Manchester United against Sheffield United."

2022-23: "Arsenal were top of the table for much of the season, with a five point lead over Manchester City in March. However, a run of three consecutive draws allowed City to cut their lead, and a 4–1 victory at the Etihad Stadium allowed them to take control."

Oh how much I love 3 Point Lane

Apparently Ange didn't get the memo that Chelsea can't score against a low block, but sure English Pundits keep throwing him flowers.

Both Romero and Udogie should have been sent off before they were sent off. Spurs were reckless last night and Chelsea finally made them pay. Liverpool know how you feel considering you were on the beneficial end of a game like this against them.

So what does the FA do they give us Anthony Taylor who absolutely has no agenda against Chelsea [/sarcasm] for the Man City match like City doesn't already have enough of an advantage. I fully expect Pep to keep a low block and punish us with their counter attacking skill which is world class.

^ you could also say all it took was 3 Brighton players, with the exception of Silva, James, and Gallagher no one was with Chelsea with prior ownership.

It seems that Chelsea are definitely poised to battle the Top 6 teams. What I am waiting to see is Chelsea beating the teams we have more talent then and let Chelsea control possession. I do see us improving our position from last season, but I am not sure how high up the table they can go. I think top 4 is probably unrealistic but finishing close to it is not outside realm of possibility.

City's PL season is rapidly disintegrating. I don't think KDB's absence is mainly to blame, as the team have performed well in his absence several times before. But his passing would certainly benefit Haaland and Alvarez. Rodri's presence seems to have a huge impact on whether we win or not. Losing Gundo to Barca was costly, as he often stepped up with goals on difficult outings like tonight. Likewise with Mahrez, who departed to Saudi Arabia. Still, there's plenty of matches left in the league season and four trophies available.

Just saw on X: 16 games with Rodri this season. 0 losses. 4 games without Rodri this season. 4 losses.

I don't think I've said anywhere I think Liverpool is going to win, pretty much every betting market still favors city. But I'd rather be first then second third or fourth.

But yea united sucks, that guy that used to post here must be miserable

I think Pep tries to avoid running away with the league title ever since his Bayern team won the Bundesliga trophy by March, lost their motivation, and were hammered 5-0 on aggregate by Real Madrid in the CL semis.
