I think it's pretty well accepted that women are far better at long distance swimming (20+ miles) than men. Their additional body fat and it's location aids in buoyancy and insulation. Titties = Natures Life Preservers.

from what i've looked up men still beat women by almost 50 minutes (25km open water swimming)

I threw 20 miles as an arbitrary number, but 25km still isn't that far. In any case...Think longer distance than my example.

there aren't any sanctioned races longer than that, that i can find so far... but men beat women in every distance at every stroke....

25km is a loooong way to swim...
