I didn't say anything about an afterlife, i said a personal system of beliefs, and morals, it's doing what you know is right, not what your emotions, tell you too. Revenge, vanity, greed, these are the things that are making these people on tww so violent today. Mostly just revenge, due to anger, sadness, and confusion.

well if i remember correctly, those palestines did quite a lot to piss off those western powers....
9/11/2001 5:26:37 PM
go back to the bible and your sportscar you fucking bumpkin.
9/11/2001 5:27:16 PM
thank you jsquared.....
9/11/2001 5:27:27 PM
I agree with you, if that's what it is about, then i say fuck it too, but i have my own personal definition of what my personal beliefs are. like my favorite quote says,"for those who are too lazy and comfortable to think for themselves there are rules, others sense their own rules from within."-Herman Hesse
9/11/2001 5:27:37 PM
just dont "spread the message" this way. i usually dont like whatcha have to say.
well i don't know what i could be saying that you don't like....
9/11/2001 5:29:39 PM
no, bob you are wrong. the meek will inherit the earth means that you shouldn't be prideful. its not about who choses the correct dogma/religion/etc., its about realizing that you aren;t the greatest being in the universe, and that you can be saved from eternal torment by believing and loving back the God who created you.the only way someone is excluded from heaven is if they choose not to go there. you will not be excluded from heaven, you choose to exclude yourself. if you would rather be in hell, that's your belief, but i guarantee you when it happens you'd be wishing you chose differently.you have no excuse when the day of judgment comes.
9/11/2001 5:29:55 PM
usually its the YOUR GOING TO HELL bit that bugs me..*shudders
9/11/2001 5:30:14 PM
lol well i can see where that would... it makes me shudder to think of it too, but i haven't said you were going to hell, that's not usually how i approach things cause that's just not very encouraging or likely to get people to listen to you
9/11/2001 5:31:37 PM
i don't like that approach either. it can get pretty insulting. sadly, it is true that if you do not accept Jesus Christ as your savior, you will not make it to heaven. and there's only one other place to go...
9/11/2001 5:31:44 PM
bitch, why is your dumbass a christian? is it because you examined all the religions and beliefs of the world? or is it just because your dumbass parents gave you same dumbass beliefs that they had? go to heaven, go read the bible, disregard all scientific evidence, keep on believing in the flood, keep on believing in six-fingered giants. then take all that shit, and pass it on your kids without making them think for themselves. i'm out. [Edited on September 11, 2001 at 5:33 PM. Reason : s]
9/11/2001 5:32:44 PM
geeeeeeeez, why is he so angry? it's not like i was the one insulting him
9/11/2001 5:34:00 PM
hahahahahahahahah....word
9/11/2001 5:34:03 PM
exactly jsquared..im openly not christian, but im a basically good person and am very religious in my own right. but still i get the YOUR GOING TO HELL's all the time here in the south from ignorant people who would judge when their own bible tells them not to. for shame.
9/11/2001 5:34:54 PM
as a matter of fact, i have studied other beliefs. and you know what? Christianity is the only one that made sense. you assume too much. are you atheist because the school you went to encouraged it? you believe blindly in evolution because your teacher taught it? the same textbooks that are out of date now? how often do scientific theories get modified? look at atomic theory. from molecules being the smallest, to atoms, to protons/neutrons/electrons, to quarks/leptons/gluons, now string theory, and its possible that all matter is just energy fields (matter is 99.999% space anyway). evolution is out of date, and the scientists need to come up with a more feasible theory.
9/11/2001 5:36:45 PM
well, people around here were raised being told that, it's teh scare tactic way of getting pe ople involved in religion, personally it makes me sick, i want people to believe because of love and faith not fear and stupidity
9/11/2001 5:37:20 PM
the sad part about the bible belt is all the "social christians." you know, go to church, go to youth group (to pick up girls), go to "bible groups", "witness" to others (when all they are doing is turning people farther away, and they know nothing about the reason behind our faith, and they sometimes dont even believe it themselves. its like a social event. they anger me
9/11/2001 5:38:38 PM
it is true, the majority of people who profess to be christian in today's society, really AREN'T. they were taught from a young age to believe something and they did. only christians who have gone through real doubting and have truly searched can call themselves christians.
9/11/2001 5:38:54 PM
DITTO
9/11/2001 5:39:36 PM
which is why it is so hard sometimes to tell people about faith because from waht they've seen was never sincere
9/11/2001 5:41:43 PM
this is why im not christian. i dont believe in my heart that the christian teachings are "true" (in fact i believe no religious teachings are necessarily "true"). religion is a very personal matter and i dont agree with organized religion because religion is supposed to answer life's questions and not everybody is going to agree on all the answers given in any specific religion.
9/11/2001 5:41:59 PM
ITS NOT ABOUT RELIGION, ITS ABOUT A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ALL-POWERFUL CREATOR OF YOU and everything else in the universe.
9/11/2001 5:50:20 PM
hmm now why does that sound like a non-christian statement to me? you arent southern baptist are you.
9/11/2001 5:51:30 PM
and this is why i stay away from churches
9/11/2001 5:52:49 PM
agreed cass
9/11/2001 5:53:43 PM
not southern baptist at all what made you think that? i am actually not in a specific denomination, because i dont like the divisiveness that goes along with it.
9/11/2001 6:27:18 PM
What's wrong with southern baptist? I am.... and I also believe the most important aspect is your relationship with God. I grew up in a Catholic household, so I was exposed to Christianity early in life. However, reciting creeds every week like some archaic cult does not sit well. Faith isn't about reading along with the rest of the crowd, it's about developing a meaningfull relationship with your savior.I left my church when my good and close friend of the family (the Pastor) was kicked out because a select few in the church weren't happy (which they never are). I do agree that there is a certain group of people that view church as a political proposition, but for the most part, our church was made up of people who are loving and caring.[Edited on September 11, 2001 at 6:39 PM. K, I'm gonna hafta break in now and tell ya'll this knowlege that I have acquired over the years. My dad being a hard-core Christian, AND being very straight-forward and honest with me, has told me a lot of these things, so here it goes. *I'm gonna get ridiculed for this, but oh well, I feel I have to say it*First off, prophecy says that these could be the endtimes. According to the Bible *which has been fullfilled 3/4 of the time so far, the other 1/4 hasn't supposed to happen yet*, the generation that sees Israel reform as a country will also see the second coming of Christ. Now, the Bible describes generations as 30 years, 40 years, and 100 years. If I remember correctly, Israel reformed in what, 1935 or something like that? Well then, 30 years has gone by... 40 years has gone by... only thing left is 100 years. So take that for instance. That would mean that the generation is about to die out, but hey, according to Biblical prophecy, the generation that sees Israel reform will also see the second coming of Chirst. The Bible ALSO says that there will be a lot of war as I've seen been posted already. And America isn't mentioned either, so America's not going to be that big a deal. Once Israel reclaims the temple mount, that's when you KNOW that things are coming to an end.Now then, we've got the middle east in the spotlight right now, and that means that the end could possibly be coming. The latest we've got is around 2035. Think about it.Regardless, it's some book that was written by the same dudes that wrote those Left Behind books. *Great reading, check 'em out*Anyway, that's my take on things. *Or at least my Dad's along with the Bible*
9/11/2001 6:42:07 PM
Israel became a nation in May, 1948.
9/11/2001 6:47:30 PM
I put about as much "faith" in the Bible as I do in Nostradamus' writings -- absolutely none. It's all pretty vague stuff as far as prophecies go... I mean, who COULDN'T predict that some kind of war will happen at some time?
9/11/2001 6:47:37 PM
Israel was recognized as a nation in 1948.
9/11/2001 6:47:48 PM
<< agrees with morphineboy's dad (mostly)[Edited on September 11, 2001 at 6:53 PM. Reason : .]
9/11/2001 6:53:34 PM
spooky, but still, I welcome the second coming of Jesus ... the earth is a crappy place right now, it's time for a change. But where is he going to appear first, the temple mount? What's the significance of the temple mount?[Edited on September 11, 2001 at 6:54 PM. Reason : ?]
9/11/2001 6:54:29 PM
The Temple Mount is where the antichrist is going to build his temple during the tribulation.*Just to answer the question*
9/11/2001 6:55:56 PM
The temple will be built by Israel as a real temple of God, then later be taken over by the antichrist. (minor point)
9/11/2001 6:57:10 PM
Also, the significance of 1948, that means that the latest the rapture can happen is 2041 because there has to be at least a 7 year tribulation.Which basically means that we could be seeing the rapture at any time.*The Second Coming of Christ happens at the end of the 7 Year Tribulation, so the cut off for the rapture is 2041*Kinda makes you realise you don't live forever.
9/11/2001 6:58:31 PM
so i see your dad is a post-trib person
9/11/2001 6:59:30 PM
doesn't the Bible also say that nobody will know when the second coming of Christ will be?? (currious)
9/11/2001 7:00:06 PM
rapture happens before tribulation.
9/11/2001 7:00:42 PM
We DON'T know when it will be, we can just tell from God's Word itself that it is going to happen before 2041.
9/11/2001 7:01:17 PM
yeah...nobody knows when it will be...but we can kinda narrow it down i think
nobody knows the exact time or day, but the rapture happens at any time period before the tribulation. there are some clues to the beginning of the tribulation, after those, it is a set timeline, fairly specific monthly/yearly timeline, but rapture is not any specific time. could be 5 mins. before, could be 20 years before...
9/11/2001 7:02:22 PM
I'm gonna go ahead and retract myself from this argument before I start hurting the cause of God cause Lord knows I'm not one to tell people about the bible cause of the way I live.Therefor, I just presented that info for knowledge.
9/11/2001 7:02:51 PM
The TRIBULATION is perpetrated by the antichrist & all who follow him - against all who believe in God. The WRATH OF GOD is poured out on the antichrist in retribution for the trib. The Rapture occurs BETWEEN these two events.
9/11/2001 7:03:07 PM
hmmm..i was always under the impression that the rapture would pretty much start the tribulation...i dunno though...after the rapture....i won't be worried about it
9/11/2001 7:03:10 PM
Okay, I'm stupid, what is tribulation and rapture??
9/11/2001 7:05:35 PM
pitts, there is no way for rapture to happen after tribulation. read it again a few times...
9/11/2001 7:06:32 PM
