Quote :
"but still the better team almost the entire game."

This is what I disagree with. We should all know by now possession means jack shit. You had a surge at the end and I was screaming for Ole to bring on Martial by the 65th minute, which is where we dropped points in this game. Just like you weren't afraid of United's attacks I wasn't afraid of Liverpools. It was a relatively comfortable match for the back 4 for both teams.

Quote :
"Liverpool plays against teams like this almost every single week and United has better players than Newcastle, Sheffield United, etc. so it's harder to break them down."

I'd argue Liverpool has a much more attacking gameplan against teams with lesser quality. It was obvious Liverpool had more quality but Klopp setup his team to ensure he also doesn't get burned from balls over the top like Chelsea did, James and Rashford are very good at running into space. What happens after is what has been a consistent issue for United.

In all honesty United and Periera had the ball in some really good positions on the break and what has let me down more is that the attack does not make the right decisions in the final third. If United's gameplan/decision making in the attacking third was better we certainly could have gotten a second. Just like if Liverpool had pushed the midfield higher and played through the middle you may have broken down the defense more but then would have been more susceptible to our quick transition, another aspect of our play that isn't as sharp as it needs to be. This is on Ole and his in game management is also very reactive which is a slight on him as well. These are issues that can be fixed by hiring new assistants to bring something different and work on specific tactical issues.

For me Liverpool now has had two chances to put the worst United team they have faced to the sword and both times there has been too much respect shown by Klopp.

I guess it was evenly bad. Statistically though, there was no measurement United had an advantage except corners I think, that's all I am saying.

Quote :
"Klopp setup his team to ensure he also doesn't get burned from balls over the top like Chelsea did"

Robertson/TAA both had average positions in line with the midfield and were clearly the focus offensively, mostly to the attack's detriment. Matip/VVD handled most of the balls over the top with ease, except for the goal (which should not have happened...). I don't see how that is set up differently than usual. Without Salah, I think it would have made more sense to play two up top and bring on a 4th midfielder but then again, Klopp knows way more than me.

I think it has less to do with Klopp and more of a psychological thing for this Liverpool team because it happens against United, Everton, Chelsea, and City in the "big" games. They still haven't quite adjusted to playing as favorites and dictating how a game plays out like City regularly does now under Pep. It's frustrating to watch when you're clearly a better team. Arsenal/Spurs are the only two "big games" I feel like Liverpool really play as favorites.

The xG also narrowly favored Liverpool but non-shot said Liverpool were in better positions. Firmino had a couple great looks at goal but was having a bad day all around.

And united has been good defensively all year (as you would hope after spending £170), just had some bad luck. This is one the 3rd time this season that United has allowed over 1 xG. Combine that with Pool being disconnected for whatever reason and you get what you get.

Despite being 15 points ahead the reds still hammering the narrative that refs are biased towards United. Hates, adored but never ignored.

I guess all the refs allowing bullshit last year for Liverpool still couldn't get you that oh so coveted title. Should have paid more.

Ref was bad but a draw was a fair result. Carry on.

Yes I am checked out. Liverpool would have won the game had it not been for the ref clearly. LMAO!!!

I guess Liverpool and delusion are synonyms. Also see, since your victim card can't process it:

Nobody is blaming you for anything why do you keep posting that quote? On the other hand you've twice implied that Pool fans think there is a conspiracy with no reason, once in response to OLE saying that Atkinson was MOTM. You read your managers quote and got mad at Liverpool about it.

Gritty win for Chelsea at Ajax yesterday. Group is going to come down to Match day 5 in the away fixture against Valencia, win that and probably qualify for knockout stage.

On another note Oxlade-Chamberlain's 2nd goal yesterday

Liverpool looked pretty bad in the first half, glad they got the cobwebs out in the second. 2 home games left.

That ox goal was nasty though

Keita

Henderson is going to have to reinvent himself as a Milneresque Utility guy that can play RB or something because he is gonna have a tough time making the XI with a healthy Ox and Keita.

The fickle nature of football fans. Its funny how the news media changes their opinions on managers and influences fans. If Emery and Ole get sacked the same people saying they should go would be saying these clubs don't give managers time despite the history proving that they do.

Who do Arsenal fans think will be the right person to right the ship? Mourinho, Allegri, Teuchel?

From what I have read he makes a much better DOF than manager. Not sure about his ability having never followed him but seems like an astute guy and I'd love him at United as a DOF to work with Ole. But Ed Woodfuck would never let that happen.

Two decent matches tomorrow. I expect a heavy squad rotation for all 4 PL clubs involved and interestingly enough for Chelsea that means playing more experience. I think with the fact that it is at the Bridge and United will be fielding a very young team I expect a close loss. Arsenal v Pool could go either way and with the pressure on Emery he will likely play a strong team. Klopp doesn't seem to rate this tournament and Pool have much bigger targets so I'd expect heavy rotation.

Comparing Abarham to Kane is stupid when Kane is having one of his worst seasons and Tammy is just getting started.

I love the reasoning for why United won't finish top 6:
Quote :
"Manchester United have the third best xGD, but that’s aided by the fact that they’ve taken twice as many penalties as anyone else in the league. "

All penalties were stonewall penalties and against CP we deserved two more.

1. I posted the pic bc of the argument about Kane being the best striker in the world and the previous article about Kane regressing. Therefore, very relevant. Also the column mentions the ages, that is a point AGAINST Kane

2. He isn't saying that the penalties were undeserved, but a penalty almost always gives you a much higher xG then if the offensive action had continued without a foul. Therefore it skews the stats a tad. He also didn't seem to argue that United weren't going to finish top 6, but that they weren't the 3rd best team in the league. Instead they will be in the rock fight for 4-7th spots.

lol all this praise on Chelsea when literally this is what Ole and United did for 15 matches straight. Lampard is still way out of his depth and they will regress to the mean. But that was only true for Ole and United though.

These stats based on very limited evidence prove absolutely nothing. Outside of the top 2 almost every team from 3 to 10 is average at best. I don't need stats to show me that. 3rd and 4th is going to be a dog fight between United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal. Leicester perhaps but I also don't agree with their "form" because they have beat up teams down to 10 men early on in a match.

In short the top 6 will remain the top 6, you can print that and come back by May 2020.

You argue about something, your arguments are answered, then you move onto a new topic in your next post....

But anyway, what does "prove" have to do with anything? It's analysis and writing. If you don't like it, don't read it. I, for one, fine his analysis with evidence far more compelling then your "nuh uh that's all wrong" with no evidence. But thats just me.

I don't know how much of it is Lampard or how much of it is young players just making the most of their opportunities but I will admit I was 100% wrong about Chelsea having no chance at top 4. But I also thought that was because Spurs had a lock on 3rd and it was too many teams fighting for one spot.
