Hmm...

Could be good, although kiper saying he will be the leader of our D is pretty dumb.

Hard not to like a guy who leads the nation in tackles as an OLB and an ILB.

Just hoping he's more Urlacher than Dan Connor

that would be an added bonus...you have TD coming off of 3 ACL tears...its a low chance of him coming back full strength...plus you have Jon Beason coming off an achilles tear...some people never come back from those

i really like the player, i just want them to address the d-line and its tough to see them go elsewhere with a first round pick. i'm sure they have a plan though, and our linebackers oughta be pretty solid going forward.

I never posted it, but he was who I was hoping for the entire time

I'm happy with the direction this team is heading

/obvious

(pour one out for Justin Blackmon tonight if you haven't already)

Good, safe pick. Out of all the guys left, he has the best chance of being a productive starter for the next 10 years. That's exactly what you need with your first round pick.

not sure on his current projection but Devon Still, DT is still there. definitely remember him going to Carolina at 9th overall in the very early mocks.

just listened to the interview with Charlotte-area press via the Panthers app

a little surprised that there wasn't one mention of Cam by the writers, but oh well

says he is ready to play anywhere in the linebacking corp

and he has family that used to live in Charlottle so he knows a little about the QC

TD isn't coming back full strength. No reason to get your hopes up there. Beason, Anderson and Keuchly will be the LB corp by start of regular season.

Reuben Randle would be a great choice at #40. The next Anquan Boldin IMO.

Screw character. Let's draft Janoris Jenkins and his four kids. Seriously.

If not him, there's a massive DT from Washington who'd be a great pick, though no one is talking about him. His name is Alameda Taamu ... not sure how it's pronounced, but I'm positive he's a monster: 6'2 350 lbs. NFL Draft Countdown gave him a first-round grade

Strengths:
• Outstanding mass and bulk w/ thick, sturdy build
• Excellent brute strength and extremely powerful
• Is stout at the point of attack and stuffs the run
• Ability to take on and occupy multiple blockers
• Terrific bull rusher and can get some penetration
• Good balance and rarely off feet or on the ground
• Understands leverage and uses hands / arms well
• Is a reliable tackler who hits with plenty of force
• Nice instincts and awareness w/ high football IQ
• Impressive motor with surprising range in pursuit...

Taamu would be a good pickup if we're switching to the 3-4. Otherwise there are better defensive tackles available.

Taking a lb at #9 is sketchy but he's great against the run and supposedly good in coverage. And we need a LB badly so overall I think it was a good pick.

I hope we go S, DT next in either order.

Panthers are always good for at least one what the Fuck pick.

Rashard Anderson, Armanti Edwards, that defensive end who only wore half a jersey in college....

What the Fuck just draft someone who played division one in college

^1-AA not D2

Quote :
"STRENGTHS
Silatolu is a quick athlete for a man of his stature and gets off the line with a noticeable quickness. He is urgent in his play, and once engaged with a defender, can keep him covered up for an extended period of time. He is a leg-driver who doesn't get a lot of movement but keeps his man occupied. He is extremely mobile and is an active puller who can get outside, move up field and locate his blocks to quickly engage. He can slide well in pass protection in tackle views in college and will likely be a guard who can sit and stop rushers in their tracks in the pass game at the next level. He is a shield blocker who rarely lets a man behind him.

WEAKNESSES
Silatolu is not an explosive blocker,s and his limited time working at guard will likely slow his development as he transitions to the next level. Midwestern State does not face the level of competition or athletic type of player that he will line up against in training camp, and teams should expect he may need to develop somewhat before he can be inserted as a starter. He can be over-aggressive at times and whiff on blocks; he needs to have more play discipline at the next level."

here's a D-II guard though

Our rushing offense was ranked the best in all of the nfl for the past twenty years so yeah its obviously going to be pretty good this year barring a gangrene outbreak during training camp

i would've liked to see us go with a safety in the 2nd round. You can usually get a quality starter there, but i guess we did need a guard too.

Looks like we're still at least a year away from having a competitive defense. Too many holes at DT, CB, S... and possibly LB still depending on our health.

i'm actually not as worried about the d-line as i was. edwards should help immediately, johnson is still a beast, and hopefully one or both of the rookies makes a good step forward from last season. safety and corner though, well.....

look- we took two early round DTs last year. they should be improved with time to learn in the offseason and healthy. McClain and Fua will both get a chance to get decent playing time. Ron Edwards is going to start there.

we just shored up the spot that is left from releasing Travelle Wharton. I see nothing wrong with that. Clearly this is a guy that Hurney and Rivera saw something major in EARLY on. I am definitely trusting them on this one. He looks flat out mean and plays with an edge.

If we can get some secondary with any of our remaining picks, and maybe another DT, i would see this draft as a success.

We're really close as a team. Things could come together quite nicely and quickly this year.

I don't trust Hurney to do shit.

Well I guess I trust him more to draft players than to sign free agents, but that's not saying a whole lot.

Frank Alexander, DE Oklahoma

and now have a 2nd consecutive pick

Joe Adams, WR Arkansas (SEC Special Teams player of the year) ... didn't he have like 4 TDs on returns? (maybe they'll dump Armanti now)
