I use the Booking.com app on occasion. Expedia and Priceline are the ones to be wary of. They'll sell you a bullshit flight, hotel, or rental car and then double the price about the time your card is charged. Sheisty!

I think they are all owned by same parent company. I think i heard like 95% of all those 3rd party reservation sites are the same company
