What is something that has caused you to boycott a business?

What advice would you give EMCE as a soon to be parent?

^^I’ve never boycotted anything, but I would suspect that if an owner was convicted of some heinous crime and the business was allowed to continue? Perhaps something like that maybe.^Oh man, where to start.Cloth diapers. Hands down one of the best decisions we made. It’s great for your wallet and great for your environment. Yes, it is a little bit more work, and you certainly get down and dirty with the poo, but def. worth it. The initial, up-front cost would be more than disposables, but you’ll end up saving several thousand over the time it takes to potty train. And patience. Just be patient.

Also, I’m pretty sure this is, in the span of the 25 years I’ve been here, that a thread has been directly created at/for me. I’m blushing.

n00bWhat seemingly obvious thing did it take you too long to realize?
2/26/2026 1:54:50 PM
That’s a hard one. All those student loan disbursements I spent in my youth on useless crap. I mean I had an idea I’d have to pay that money back, but no real idea of how long it would take me.Also, tire maintenance, if not done properly, will come back and bite you in the butt.

What sort of tire maintenance are you referring? Check your air pressures weekly. Rotate every 6 months. Don't Auto X every weekend. Decent tires should last their estimated lifespan.

^Should be 5k-7.5k miles. 6 months for some might only be like 2k miles

AAA rotates your tires for free with an oil change
